The present work reports an experimental and theoretical investigation of tuning the optoelectronic properties MIL-125-NH2 nanoparticles by grafting aromatic molecules. postsynthetic modification MOF with 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (DBA) resulted in a 23% reduction bandgap energy, from 2.71 to 2.08 eV, while increasing absorbance throughout visible region spectrum, which could be attributed stabilization due enol-imine/keto-enamine tautomerism, as supported DFT calculations. Pristine grafted MOFs were assembled into cellulose nanofibers (CNF) for preparation functional CNF-based bionanocomposites. mechanical films improved, Young's modulus 1.3 GPa CNF 7.5 film 20% loading. potential developed materials photocatalytic antimicrobial therapy was evaluated against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). In vitro tests showed that both bionanocomposite pristine DBA-modified remarkably reduced bacterial growth action under light. inhibition values around 58% 72%, respectively, minimal observed dark conditions. These initial results support use wound dressings.
