Non-pharmaceutical public health measures (PHMs) were central to pre-vaccination efforts reduce Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) exposure risk; heterogeneity in adherence placed bounds on their potential effectiveness, and correlation adoption makes assessing the impact attributable an individual PHM difficult. During Fall 2020 semester, we used a longitudinal cohort design university student population conduct behavioral survey of intention adhere PHMs, paired with IgG serosurvey quantify SARS-CoV-2 at end semester. Using latent class analysis responses, identified three distinct groups among 673 students samples: 256 (38.04%) most adherent group, intending follow all guidelines, 306 (46.21%) moderately-adherent 111 (15.75%) least-adherent rarely any measure, negatively correlated seropositivity 25.4%, 32.2% 37.7%, respectively. Moving individuals SIR model into group resulted 77-96% reduction seroprevalence, dependent assumed assortativity. The increasing was limited by substantial risk large proportion already following PHMs.

Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is a leading cause of infant mortality, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Several maternal GBS vaccine candidates, aimed at protecting infants, are progressing through clinical trials. The World Health Organisation (WHO) aims to ensure equitable access safe, effective, affordable vaccines assured quality LMICs, by facilitating regulatory pathways. An alternate approval pathway, based on safety an immunological endpoint thought predict benefit (commonly referred as serological threshold risk reduction [SToRR]), being considered for vaccines. Since this approach new many LMICs regulators policymakers, WHO organized consultative meetings national, regional, global levels discuss the feasibility potential challenges approving immunogenicity data alone. These consultations focused evidence supporting SToRR, their use endpoints infer protection, post-licensure requirements. aim was reduce delay between development, licensure, policy recommendations high-burden LMICs.
