This paper investigates strategies to address climate change by promoting sustainable energy technologies and consumption practices. It examines renewable sources such as solar, wind, geothermal their potential reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The study also explores optimization techniques, focusing on genetic algorithms (GAs) smart systems like grids microgrids, which enhance efficiency sustainability. research highlights the role of circular economy in fostering through recycling waste management. Furthermore, economic trade-offs between environmental harm, impact both fossil fuel energies. A dual methodological approach is employed: first, an endogenous growth model excluding factors, followed a modified version incorporating considerations. Using continuous algorithm data from 2000 2025, forecasts optimal trajectory for energy’s share global under two scenarios. findings suggest that could represent 82.4% total constraints, up current 45%. hindered challenges droughts, hydropower production. concludes achieving transition requires comprehensive policies integrating expansion, efficiency, protection. These provide important insights into optimizing pathways They serve foundation future policy recommendations, aiming ensure low emission balancing need with preservation environment.

ABSTRACT In Malawi, it is difficult to promote positive mental health due poverty, cultural beliefs, and stigma associated with illness. Mental literacy (MHL) not integrated into the education system despite evidence suggesting educational settings as ideal deliver MHL programmes. Stakeholder input crucial during development of interventions. This paper reports on our work diverse stakeholders culturally adapt a course (MHLc) for implementation in Malawi universities. The MHLc structure content involved focus group discussions (FGDs) 44 Malawian youth from universities organisations, national survey systematic review exploring adolescent substance use Africa. was delivered 35 first‐year university students. Students’ assessed using two questionnaires before 3 months after delivery an evaluation session which also included FGDs 20 participants explore satisfaction. questionnaire responses were analysed paired t‐tests FGD transcripts thematically analysed. Overall student attendance rate 92%. However, only 57% attended session. increased completion (pre post scores 116.7 117.9 respectively) however this change significant. Student feedback about positive. They highlighted acquiring considerable knowledge skills that they would utilise their lives daily. A key challenge raised disruption electricity outages. acceptable among students high rates regarding impact participants’ attitudes. highlights value stakeholders’ when designing future, we need mitigate consider incentives reduce participant dropout at follow up points.

Africa stands at a crossroads in its journey toward an energy transition framed by climate impacts, increased demands, and the drive for sustainable development. This article looks landscape of continent, emphasizing regional differences, infrastructure development, geopolitical factors. North is making progress integrating renewable nuclear new futures, while state affairs sub-saharan hampered feeble economies unstable governance. It emphasizes need to invest forms, especially solar, wind green hydrogen, question supply meet increasing demand. Major challenges still exist money — missing infrastructure, financial gaps public scepticism. further underscores role partnerships outside namely BRICS China, they playin developing Africa’s future through technology finance transfer. also explores potential mining critical minerals, which are crucial technology, as well social, economic environmental issues associated with extraction. Infrastructure development becomes linchpin access prosperity while, public-private regulatory reform become facilitators. The report concludes that transformative but will require coordinated inclusive efforts governance, financing deliver equitable continent.

Опубликована: Янв. 1, 2025

The world faces serious environmental issues like climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and landscape changes, which affect all countries. These challenges are particularly severe in Southern African Development Community (SADC) This study highlights major problems the region, including land degradation, deforestation, lack of clean water sanitation, poor urban conditions, threaten Sustainable Goals (SDGs). Despite progress management, more action is needed. SADC governments, NGOs, private sector, other stakeholders must work together to address root causes these problems. Strengthening coordination implementing key interventions across different sectors crucial. Beyond concerns, geopolitical economic challenges, weak international trade, political instability, poverty, declining performance, debt. findings suggest that policymakers should develop enforce policies promote change adaptation from a broad, interdisciplinary, cross-border perspective.
