The high theoretical energy storage capacity of nickel-based polyvalent hydrotalcite has garnered significant attention from researchers, positioning it as a promising candidate for electrode materials in the field supercapacitor storage. Unfortunately, result limitations material synthesis and design, explicit most reported falls significantly below their value. concept employing one-step partial selenized transformation strategy was adopted herein surface treatment nickel–chromium layered double hydroxides (NiCr-LDHs), with aim to enhance charge conduction maximize capability. optimally prepared Se-NiCr-LDHs-1 presented mass capacitance 754 F g–1 at current density 1 A g–1, long-term cycle stability been improved comparison NiCr-LDHs. Besides, power 1063 W kg–1, self-assembled Se-NiCr-LDHs-1//activated carbon (AC) asymmetric (ASC) good 33 Wh kg–1. Happily, Se-NiCr-LDHs-1//AC ASC held 77.52% after 5000 cycles under 10 g–1. In exploration development high-performance supercapacitors, selenium augmentation is an effective means increase NiCr-LDHs material.
