ABSTRACT
This
work
aims
to
enhance
the
performance
of
square
pyramid
solar
stills,
both
conventional
(CPSS)
and
modified
(MPSS),
by
using
wick
materials,
namely,
black
cotton
cloth
jute
cloth.
The
MPSS
features
fins
paraffin
wax
as
phase
change
material
within
basin.
stills
(SSs)
is
evaluated
through
productivity,
energy,
exergy,
economic,
environmental
analyses,
with
sustainability
assessed
based
on
energy
production
factor
payback
period.
results
confirm
an
improvement
about
43.08%,
30.77%,
29.23%,
17.89%,
6.15%
in
daily
yield
for
MPSS+C,
MPSS+J,
MPSS,
CPSS+C,
CPSS+J,
respectively,
comparison
CPSS.
MPSS+C
shows
maximum
exergy
45.82%
177.2%,
respectively.
Energy
factors
range
from
1.87
4.79,
periods
between
0.21
0.53
years
across
six
cases.
Interestingly,
a
reduction
cost
per
liter
productivity
period
10.1%
each,
increase
carbon
credits
43%,
while
reducing
CO
2
emission
3.27
tons.

proved
that
SS

higher
than
jute.
