The growing demand for sustainable energy solutions has intensified research on phase change materials (PCMs) due to their ability efficiently store and release thermal energy. However, traditional PCMs are often made from petroleum-derived or rely processes that pose environmental concerns. aim of this work is therefore explore the development use organic PCMs, in particular those based bio-based waste-derived materials. Bio-based including fatty acids, natural waxes, biopolymers, fact characterized by renewability biodegradability. Waste-derived such as lost-wax casting industry industrial by-products, offer an environmentally friendly approach storage reusing waste This paper aims analyze thermal, mechanical, in-service performance these materials, highlighting advantages limitations compared most widely used commercial PCMs. Furthermore, recent progress integration into building illustrated assess practical implementation. Challenges limitations, well possible future directions, also discussed.
