Abstract A multi-strategy enhanced arithmetic optimization algorithm called MSEAOA is proposed to address the issues of low population diversity, imbalanced exploration and exploitation capabilities, accuracy optimal solution in Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm. Firstly, using good point set strategy for initialization improve diversity thus accelerate convergence speed. Secondly, we integrate exploition capabilities differential self-learning strategy, best example learning second-order perturbation balancing algorithm. Finally, introduction somersault foraging improves solution. We select 14 classical benchmark test functions CEC2019 function ability MSEAOA, apply path planning problem mobile robots. compared with other meta-heuristic algorithms, experimental results are statistically analyzed by Wilcoxon rank-sum test. The simulation show that performs among functions, but 10 has performance 5 them (50%). In robots, obtained also all its shortening rate exceeds 8.8% 83% environments. indicate a reliable suitable practical problems.
