This systematic literature review addresses a critical gap in the existing by providing one of first comprehensive syntheses retail investors' decision-making processes within sustainable investment context, analyzing 70 empirical articles published top-tier journals from 2014 to 2023. Utilizing Antecedents-Decisions-Outcomes and Theories-Contexts-Methods (ADO-TCM) organizing framework integrating consumer behavior perspective, we reveal intricate dynamics influencing choices. Notably, while behavioral intentions (60% articles) actual decisions (23%) are frequently studied, lacks focus on post-investment decision consequences. Despite growing research interest investing, predominantly focuses high-income economies (63%). Interestingly, current utilizes diverse theories but often concentrates few dominant ones. extends ADO-TCM specific context highlighting interaction lens with financial theories. offers overview identifies gaps guide future explorations this field.
