The continuous global increase in population and consumption of resources due to human activities has had a significant impact on the environment. Freshwater are currently under threat monitored; however, current methods for pollution can neither provide mechanistic insight nor predict adverse effects from complex pollution. Using daphnids bioindicator, we assessed acute exposures eight individual specifically two metals, four pharmaceuticals, pesticide stimulant, composite mixture combining phenotypic, biochemical metabolic markers physiology. Toxicity levels were same order magnitude significantly enhanced mixture. Results showed distinct responses key enzyme such phosphatases, lipase, peptidase, β-galactosidase glutathione-S-transferase. Following this, more realistic scenario was with aforementioned metabolomic approach.
