There is increasing global concern about environmental pollutants, such as heavy metals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and pesticides, which have been detected in a variety of environments are likely to be exposed nontarget organisms, including humans. Various animal models utilized for toxicity assessment, zebrafish particularly valuable studying the various compounds owing their similarity other aquatic organisms 70% genetic Their development easy observe, transgenic organs heart, liver, blood vessels, nervous system enable efficient studies organ-specific toxicity. This suggests that tool evaluating specific forecasting potential impacts on species. review describes organ caused by toxic substances mechanisms zebrafish.

In this study, we present data on the effects of condensed (CTs) and hydrolysable (HTs) tannins, polyphenols extracted from plants, at different concentrations zebrafish development to identify range with toxic effects. Zebrafish embryos were exposed CTs HTs two concentration ranges (5.0, 10.0, 20.0 μgL-1 5.0, mgL-1) for 72 h. The toxicity parameters observed up h treatment. uptake by larvae was assessed HPLC analysis. qRT-PCR analysis performed evaluate gene expression cd63, zhe1 klf4, involved in hatching process zebrafish. not toxic. On contrary, mgL-1 induced a delayed starting 48 treatment, while showed mainly 48h. down-regulation group confirming data. We believe that study is important define optimal doses HTs, be employed application fields such as chemical animal feed industry, medical science.

Microplastics and nanoplastics, degraded plastic polymers, are increasing in the environment, raising concerns about their potential health impacts, particularly on cardiovascular system. This systematic review aimed to investigate prospective effects of MPs NPs toxicity. study was written following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The risk bias included studies assessed using SYRCLE tool. Our 38 vivo dating back from 2017 2024 several databases, including PubMed, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Taylor & Francis, ProQuest, Wiley Online Library, with inclusion criteria (PECOS) (1) Population: Animal; (2) Exposure: All types exposure micro nanoplastics; (3) Comparison: Placebo/ Control; (4) Outcome: Cardiotoxicity, inhibition development tissue, oxidative stress, inflammation, abnormal structure; (5) Study design: In experimental study. Studies reveal that cause toxicity through deposition, morphological changes, biomarker alterations, metabolism genetic regulation related injury, stress. is limited comparison different particle sizes, dose exposure, duration toward cardiotoxicity, does not compare between types.

ABSTRACT Microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) are byproducts of plastics created to benefit humanity, but improper disposal inadequate recycling have turned them into a global menace that we can no longer conceal. As they interact with all living organisms, including humans, their mechanism interaction perilous impact must be meticulously investigated. To uncover the secrets MNPs, there model systems exist interlink two major scenarios: represent environmental relevant humans. Therefore, zebrafish Drosophila perfect describe these cases, as well studied relatable In this review, 39% studies reported higher mortality hatching rates at greater MNP concentrations, severe oxidative stress seen by raised malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, reduced superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. About 50% showed neurotoxic behavior drop locomotor activity, suggesting neurotoxicity. MNPs significant on fertility rate . More than half revealed genotoxicity in observed wing spot assays modified genomic expressions associated detoxification processes. These findings emphasize potential bioaccumulate, impair physiological systems, cause neurobehavioral damage. This study underscores importance for thorough risk evaluations health consequences.
