Materials that are lightweight, durable, and require low maintenance in various applications despite exposure to harsh environmental conditions greatly desired. Polymer matrix composites have been regarded as a material with true balance between cost-effectiveness deliverable performances. Due their appealing properties, polymer found extensive within industries, such aerospace, automotive, even construction. The escalating demand for bio-friendly sustainable materials has caused natural fibre-reinforced (FRP) composite attract considerable interest due its potential reduce impacts. Nevertheless, these face challenges high-performance engineering applications, where synthetic fibre carbon glass FRP generally favoured. Striking the performance of composite, biodegradability, costs is essential developing materials. To overcome challenges, surface modifications, alkali, enzyme silane treatment reported affect fibre’s physical chemical leading mechanical enhancement composite. This review also explores inclusion nanomaterials different formations fibre, namely 2D 3D braids, knit woven architectures enhance properties both static dynamic loadings. comprehensively examines hybridisation effect combinations further composites.
