Anaerobic digestion is a practical, sustainable energy method that can help address the global crisis and replace fossil fuels. However, anaerobic always hindered by low biogas yield generation rate. This study revealed effects of chicken bone-derived biochar (CB) magnetic (MCB) on co-digestion (AcoD) corn straw cow dung. The results showed with 4 g/L MCB addition, increased 54.33%, followed 2 which 38.15% compared to control. Total solids (TS) volatile (VS) removal rates 75.82% 89.02% addition in comparison control group. carbohydrate reducers including Ruminofilibacter have higher hydrolysis activity all reactors, however, Ruminiclostridium hemi-cellulase cellulase producer degrade fibers produce ethanol acetic acid enhanced treated reactor. Methanosarcina was found be responsible for high production through hydrogenotrophic acetoclastic pathways, enriched reactors. findings demonstrated CB AD coupled optimized C/N ratio enabled DIET between bacteria archaea improve digestibility agricultural feedstock production.

Nitrogen and phosphorus play essential roles in ecosystems organisms. However, with the development of industry agriculture recent years, excessive N P have flowed into water bodies, leading to eutrophication, algal proliferation, red tides, which are harmful aquatic Biochar has a high specific surface area, abundant functional groups, porous structure, can effectively adsorb nitrogen water, thus reducing environmental pollution, achieving reusability elements. This article provides an overview preparation biochar, modification methods advancements adsorption by factors influencing as well mechanisms. Furthermore, difficulties encountered future research directions regarding biochar were proposed, providing references for application adsorption.

Biomass feedstocks have different physicochemical properties owing to their composition, morphology, functional groups, and surface chemistry, leading considerable differences in the adsorption capacity of biochars. However, few studies focused on selecting appropriate biomass for Pb(II) other potentially toxic elements from wastewater. In addition, effect magnetic modification various remains unclear. this study, three types feedstocks, including fir wood, bamboo rice straw, were used prepare biochars (BFW, BBW, BRS) (MagFW, MagBW, MagRS). Results showed that Langmuir BRS reached 153 mg/g Pb(II), which was approximately 2.8 1.9 times BFW respectively. The higher primarily resulted its rich mineral content, relatively high pH, abundant oxygen-containing strengthened release alkali/alkaline earth metal cations, precipitation (hydro)cerussite, ion exchange with H+, complexation by hydroxyl carboxyl groups. Magnetic changed mainly charge, groups biochars, thus improving through electrostatic attraction, exchange, complexation. Specifically, MagFW (308 mg/g) MagBW (284 demonstrated a more pronounced increase than MagRS (297 mg/g), because enhanced FeO band. study suggest application biochar may be feasible, effective, eco-friendly strategy removing

Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a biological process that occurs in the limited presence of oxygen. This involves various difficulties during operation, such as acidification and increased concentration volatile fatty acids, which can inhibit methane production. Therefore, this work, impact biochar on co-digestion untreated sludge residual biomass under mesophilic conditions was studied. For production biochar, gasification used at different temperatures: 759 °C (BL), 798 (BM), 888 (BH). added concentrations 0 g/L, 3.33 6.67 g/L beginning process. The results showed with BH PBM by 18% compared to control sample reduced chemical oxygen demand (COD) 88%. In addition, there reduction acids (VFA) 42.75%. Furthermore, FTIR analysis demonstrated has appropriate functional groups for These data suggest good interaction mixture municipal waste, indicating improve anaerobic waste.
