In the face of growing efforts to achieve sustainable development Goal 7, 9, 13, and 16 in Africa, this study examines environmental impacts technological progress, fossil fuels, institutional quality achieving sustainability Central Southern countries. The empirical analysis draws from a panel dataset spanning 1996 2021, utilizes innovative method Moments quantile regression technique, adjusted with bootstrap variance algorithm Half-Panel Jackknife (HPJ) Wald-type test bias-corrected pooled estimator. findings reveal that fuel consumption has significant negative impact on sustainability. Surprisingly, does not affect outcomes. Africa faces challenges adopting path, while South African nations show U-shaped relationship between progress CO2 emissions. both high GDP per capita have detrimental effect there is bidirectional causality emissions GDPsq, FOSSIL, unidirectional exists fuels TECH. Overall, suggests promising link advancements region.
