The microbiome which is an assembly of all microbes living inside our bodies performs a major role in maintaining human health and wellness. It has been found that the imbalance can cause various diseases humans. Similarly, there growing evidence largely affects person's chance contracting certain cancers how disease develops progresses. Studies have shown about 15% to 20% are caused by microbial pathogens. prevalence prostate cancer, increasing rapidly Korea, related lifestyle including diet. These diets alter gut composition, effect on cancer development be estimated. However, associated with reported differently according race. This means metabolite rather than specific will important. Short chain fatty acids, metabolites microbiome, plays important action mechanism microbiome. acids play roles such as immunomodulation inhibition histone deacetylase. Here, we examined most up-to-date literature featuring effects risk pathogenesis cancer.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) as a transmembrane protein is overexpressed by prostate cancer (PC) cells and accessible for binding antibodies or low-molecular-weight radioligands due to its extracellular portion. Successful targeting of PSMA began with the development humanized J591 antibody. Due their faster clearance compared antibodies, small-molecule targeted imaging therapy PC have been favored in recent efforts. positron emission tomography (PET) has higher diagnostic performance than conventional initial staging high-risk biochemical recurrence detection/localization. However, it remains be demonstrated how integrate PET response assessment an outcome endpoint measure clinical trials. With approval 177 Lu-PSMA-617 US Food Drug Administration metastatic castration-resistant progressing after chemotherapy, high value PSMA-targeted was confirmed. Compared standard care, PSMA-based radioligand led better quality life. This review, focusing on advanced setting, provides overview different approved nonapproved therapeutic modalities discusses future theranostics, also outlook non-radiopharmaceutical-based therapies.

Abstract Background Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is currently under evaluation for detecting clinically significant prostate cancer. The PSMA-PET/CT may complement the current standard diagnostic pathway cancer, which includes prostate-specific (PSA) testing and multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI). This study evaluated cost-effectiveness quality of life impact incorporating into this algorithm. Methods A life-time decision model compared care a MRI driven pathway, where men undergo biopsy in case Prostate Imaging Reporting Data System (PI-RADS) scores 3–5, to strategy potentially avoid unnecessary biopsies. Long-term quality-adjusted years (QALY) healthcare costs were calculated each approach. Results In PI-RADS 3 lesions, improved per-patient QALY by 0.002 was borderline cost-effective, with an increased cost €170-€186 per patient incremental ratio (ICER) €56,700-€93,212 QALY. 1–2, additional biopsies over-detection low-risk cancers led decrease 0.001 points, increase €416-€429 thus not cost-effective. Conclusion addition patients equivocal findings appears be cost-effective due avoidance reduced detection indolent, tumors. negative MRI, adding does seem higher number only minor improvement

Background: Mesoporous titanium dioxide nanoparticles (mTiNPs) are known for their chemical stability, non-toxicity, antimicrobial and anticancer effects, as well photocatalytic properties. When this material is subjected to UV radiation, its electronic structure shifts, during that process, reactive oxygen species generated, which in turn exert apoptotic events on the cancer cells. Objectives: We evaluated cytotoxic effects of UV-irradiated mTiNPs prostate (PCa) cell line PC3 with aim demonstrating interaction between UV-light positively impacts nanomaterial’s efficiency. Moreover, we assessed differential expression key oncomiRs tumor suppressor (TS) miRNAs, associated target genes, cells undergoing treatment. Methods: PBS-suspended exposed 290 nm light were added at different concentrations Cell viability was determined after 24 h a crystal violet assay. Then, obtained IC50 concentration UV-nanomaterial applied new culture, set miRNAs selected genes via qRT-PCR. Results: The photo-activated required 4.38 times less nanomaterial than group non-irradiated achieve half-maximal inhibition, an improved performance mTiNPs. miR-18a-5p, miR-21-5p, miR-221-5p downregulated application UV-mTiNPs, while TS miR-200a-5p miR-200b-5p displayed upregulated expression. Among miRNA PTEN found be treatment, BCL-2 TP53 underexpressed. Conclusions: Our outcomes coincided previous reports performed other lines, strongly suggesting promising nano-therapeutic approach against PCa. On hand, best our knowledge, first report exploring impact onco- microRNAs PCa
