Background: psychiatrists often face difficulties in selecting appropriate psychopharmacological treatments when patients with Schizophrenia spectrum disorders have been without adequate antipsychotic medication for a long period. This can lead to unforeseen complications and case managing. The relevance of this issue is highlighted by numerous clinical statistical studies that demonstrate the high prevalence these among psychiatric hospital patients.
