Abstract Compared with other sequence structure polymers, alternating polymers usually have several unique properties, but their properties are more sensitive to changes in structure. By investigating the relationship between and of polymer chains, desired can likely be synthesized. In this study, a series copolymers 1,1‐diphenylethylene (DPE) derivatives styrene derivatives, which exhibit nontraditional intrinsic luminescence (NTIL), synthesized using living anionic polymerization. changing bridge plane DPE substituent groups rigid chain containing derivative large steric hindrance is altered, change observed by altered fluorescence properties. Based on results from experimental tests theoretical simulations, structures higher emission intensities; moreover, balance electronic effects substituents intensities, chains that too cause decrease intensities. Thus, influence NTIL cannot disregarded.
