The
analysis
of
biological
fluids
plays
a
crucial
role
in
biomarker
discovery,
disease
diagnostics,
and
precision
medicine.
Dried
sample
carriers—such
as
dried
blood
spots,
plasma,
serum,
saliva,
tears,
urine—have
emerged
powerful
tools,
offering
advantages
collection,
storage,
transport,
particularly
remote
resource-limited
settings.
Recent
advances
proteomic
methodologies
have
expanded
the
potential
these
matrices,
yet
challenges
related
to
protein
stability,
sensitivity,
standardization
persist.
This
review
critically
examines
current
state
investigations
using
fluids.
Furthermore,
we
compare
proteomics’
progress
this
field
with
other
omics
approaches,
such
metabolomics,
contextualize
its
development
integration
potential.
While
fluid
proteomics
is
promising
for
non-invasive
diagnostics
large-scale
epidemiological
studies,
addressing
technical
limitations
will
be
essential
broader
adoption
clinical
translational
research.
