Abstract Background Associations between physical activity (PA) and quality of life (QOL) are usually studied in people their 60s 70s, little is known about them older age groups.We evaluated the association PA QOL Japanese adults aged 85-89 years revealed patterns this population. Methods This cross-sectional study (n = 914) used baseline data from Kawasaki Aging Well-being Project (KAWP), a longitudinal cohort years. was assessed using EuroQoL 5D-5L (EQ-5D-5L) WHO Five Well-Being Index (WHO-5). objectively subjectively measured triaxial accelerometer modified Zutphen Physical Activity Questionnaire, respectively. were analyzed multivariable regression analysis. Results The higher significantly associated with EQ-5D-5L index score (coefficient, 0.004; 95%CI, 0.001-0.008). In contrast, no observed WHO-5 total 0.103; -0.066-0.271). Calisthenics most commonly performed sports or exercises (27.4% male 47.6% female participants). subgroup participants >median PA, following sports/exercises more frequently addition to calisthenics; resistance trainingand others among participants: stretching/yoga participants. Conclusions Our findings suggest that better health-related QOL; however, psychological well-being More physically active perform several types calisthenics.
