Algerian indigenous cattle breeds are well adapted to the harsh local arid and semi-arid environments. This study aims summarize livestock practices, milk quality, discuss potential of maintain production capacity in face global warming conditions. A total 175 smallholder farmers who practice breeding breed were interviewed using a formal questionnaire. Following that, 122 samples collected for physicochemical bacteriological analyses. Climate data variability area was evaluated. Results reveal that between 1980 2018, average annual temperature rose by 0.3 ± 0.001 °C per year. Predictions suggest 2081 2100, temperatures could increase 1.18°C under SSP1-2.6, 2.33°C SSP2-4.5, 4.59°C SSP5-8.5. In same period from precipitation decreased -0.99 0.24 mm Projections indicate further decline 22.5 44.4 95.2 SSP5-8.5 1980-2000 2081-2100. These changes coincided with an expansion cropland, which increased 90.3% 1992 2005. Conversely, pasture areas 53.7% 1993 2009. socio-demographic survey revealed breeders have low educational level (39.4% unlettered). They own small herd (6.84 8.66 cattle). Moreover, daily 4.13 2.12 Liters/cow, acceptable quality but poor quality. Considering climate change vulnerability area, we can conclude exploitation seems be best adaptation strategy effects. Conservation programs enhance biodiversity ecosystem balance. Concurrently, genetic improvement boost productivity profitability, making substantial contributions social equity economies.

This study examines how patents on green technologies impact Algeria's ecological footprint from 1990 to 2022 while controlling for economic growth and energy consumption. The objectives are analyze the asymmetric effects of positive negative shocks in these drivers provide policy insights leveraging innovations minimizing environmental harm. Given recent major structural shifts economy, time series data exhibits nonlinear dynamics. To accommodate this nonlinearity, employs an innovative autoregressive distributed lag approach. findings indicate that upsurge (termed as a shock) significantly reduces footprint, thereby enhancing sustainability. Interestingly, decline also contributes reducing footprint. highlights crucial role clean mitigating damage both scenarios. Conversely, shock increases underscoring imperative environmentally friendly policies tandem with expansion. Negative shocks, however, have minimal impact. In similar vein, consumption underlining importance transitioning towards cleaner sources. has smaller but still noticeable effect. results confirm impacts, changes affecting differently. ensure long-term stability, Algeria should prioritize eco-innovation technology development. will reduce dependence fossil fuels create new, sustainable industries.

The agricultural sector contributes approximately 10–20% of the total anthropogenic greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions. Consequently, climate change can negatively affect crop yields and livestock production thus threatening food security, especially in a vulnerable continent like Africa. This review provides an overview climate-smart agriculture (CSA) practices their impacts on smallholder farmers five African countries (Algeria, Senegal, Benin, Nigeria Zambia). A 164 published articles CSA were reviewed. Analysis extracted data showed that are classified as follows: practices, restoration degraded lands, forest cropland regeneration sub-sector, water resources use weather information services. Moreover, effects differed alongside strategies adapted from one country to another. Adoption these was often influenced by financial means put place governments, role policy legislation, access farmers’ intellectual level. To address this deficiency, scientific-outcome-based research should be used increase effectiveness adaptation management programs. In conclusion, enhance uptake Africa, recommends scientific-research-driven measures prioritization governments’ agendas.

Camel livestock is an ancestral activity in Algeria; however, climate change has forced camel herders to modify their breeding practices make them more sustainable. This study summarized production practices, milk qualities, and the potential of preserve ability under global warming. To collect data related farming 10 were interviewed using a formal questionnaire. Then, 15 samples (9 raw 6 that had undergone heat treatment) collected region Oued Souf southeastern Algeria carry out physicochemical bacteriological analysis. From 1990 2021, results showed severe drought accompanied by significant increase annual average maximum temperature with temporal slope 0.04 °C year−1 decline precipitation −0.07 mm year−1. A socio-demographic survey revealed low educational level for herders. They owned small herd camels (6.84 ± 8.66 camels) transhumant extensive system or > 150 heads nomadic system. The daily was very (<3 L/day); it less important compared (4–5 L/day), acceptable quality but poor quality. Given susceptibility research area, we recorded travel mobility used as adaptation strategies effects change. On one hand, breed conservation programs can enhance biodiversity sustainable ecosystem. other side, genetic improvement program might boost productivity profitability be advantageous. Smallholders may benefit from this receiving fair secure income good working conditions, which could contribute significantly social equity local economies.

To achieve the goals of carbon peaking by 2030 and neutrality 2060, Chinese government must reduce fossil energy consumption, stimulate extraction unconventional natural gas such as shale gas, construct a green, low-carbon cycle economic development system. This study investigates impact subsidies on companies’ research (R&D) inputs innovation performance from multiple perspectives, including internal external environments nature companies. The sample consists companies listed between 2013 2019. findings were follows. First, investment made firms in R&D mediates relationship firm technological innovation. Second, contribution to differs different regulatory environments. Finally, intensity intellectual property protection (IPP) positively moderates direct mediating models performance. Accordingly, should increase its contributions industry, improve mechanism for donations, strengthen rights new technologies.

The currently implemented indiscriminate subsidy policy in China is difficult to provide effective incentives for a firm’s investment behavior because it does not take into account the differences resource characteristics. Thus, this paper puts forward type of differentiated that considers conditions, consisting basic guaranteed and variable incentive subsidy. First, from perspective economic efficiency enterprises, amount required by enterprises calculated discounted cash flow method. Then, government’s perspective, establishing an expectation benefit maximization function using principal-agent theory. case application shows due superior resources development conditions Fuling block, requires significantly smaller than Weiyuan block which verifies need consider regional design shale gas subsidies.

This study investigates heat transfer phenomena in a building envelope Bechar, Southwest Algeria, under arid climatic conditions. The meteorological station Energarid provides precise recordings of solar radiation and outdoor temperature. A calibrated model is used to analyze diurnal temperature variations. Wall temperatures exposed are estimated using recorded data. heating power requirements the determined through thermal balance approach based on regulatory technical document from National Center for Building Studies Integrated Research. Simulation results demonstrate favorable conditions achieving comfort, with elevated air velocities at outlet. Incorporating energy considerations into architectural design, such as double facades, south-facing orientations, glazed surfaces, crucial. These findings highlight significant energy-saving potential, particularly Bechar region.

With its diverse topographical and climatic conditions, Algeria presents a promising avenue for exploiting wind energy. Situated in North Africa, the country's vast territories, especially regions like Adrar, exhibit significant potential, with speeds ranging between 3 to 8.5 m/s at an altitude of 80 m. Despite nation's historical reliance on fossil fuels, there has been growing recognition untapped potential In 2018, turbines contributed 1% total renewable electricity production, indicating both progress opportunities ahead. This paper aims provide comprehensive overview energy landscape Algeria. We will explore geographical high delve into current state utilization, highlight research initiatives that underscore Algeria's commitment harnessing this source. Through detailed analysis, study seeks emphasize strategic importance sustainable future.
