In vitro germplasm conservation allows to extend the interval between subcultures without compromising viability and genetic integrity of plant, ensuring a backup genotypes with high phytosanitary quality. Abstract This study evaluates wheat, corn, and cassava native starches. Morphological features of the starch granule's surface reveal peculiar granule characteristics. Wheat granules are largest, with 20.83 µm mass median diameter, followed by 13.14 µm, cassava, 12.37 µm. Nonetheless, corn starches have lowest polydispersity greater area average. ABSTRACT The lack of water in semi‐arid areas presents challenges for agriculture, making it necessary to adopt strategies that optimise the use this resource. The biochar applied to the soil create complex interactions that impact plant development and quality. However, these may vary among different sources produce biochar, type, cultivated. Here, we hypothesized from exhibit behaviors on types of topsoil cassava growth. To test this hypothesis, one field experiment was implemented in a completely randomized design double factorial scheme (2 x 4), combining two kinds topsoils (Acrisol or Luvisol), four biochar: bean husk (BHB), soursop residue (SRB), coffee grounds (CGB) control (CONT: without biochar), with repetitions. Our analysis revealed positively affected growth, such as number leaves, height fresh mass. promoted increases K+. The amylose content can significantly impact the diverse industrial applications of cassava starch. This study aimed to assess variability germplasm concerning and other attributes pertinent root quality, alongside its correlation with paste properties. ABSTRACT Cassava crops have always been fundamental in human nutrition and industry. Nowadays, the development of new cultivars with specific properties has become a major research area. In this research, amylose-free cassava starch (WXCS) extracted from clone AM206-5 was evaluated respect to its physicochemical, morphological, thermorheological properties. The waxy nature verified (0.54 ± 0.09% w/w amylose), showing 16.92±0.20 µm average granule size elliptical or spherical truncated shapes without aggregation. There were significant differences pasting profiles evaluated, WXCS being thermally less stable (Breakdown = 698±2 cP) generating viscous final pastes (731±16 compared commercial corn starch. shear viscosity determined capillary rheometer (Rheoplast®), an inverse linear temperature dependence, decreasing by factor larger than 3 when changed 100 120 °C, pseudoplastic flow described power law (n: 0.25-0.40), consistency index (32607 - 6695 Pa.s) mechanical energy (124 75 J/g). extensional higher viscosity, where increasing strain rate enlarged Trouton number (25-145).
