Orange is one of the primary fruits processed into juice and other products worldwide, leading to a vast amount waste accumulation. Such has been considered as an attractive candidate for upcycling obtain bioactive components remaining. The present study investigated extraction essential oil (EO), flavonoids, pectin from industrial orange with holistic approach. To maximize EO yield d-limonene concentration, hydrodistillation (HD) conditions were selected be 5.5 mL water/g solid 180 min. Remaining solids further used flavonoid where conventional solvent, sequential ultrasound + ultrasound-assisted (UE) applied. UE applied 50 min 120 solvent/g yielded highest total phenolic (TPCs) contents (TFCs), antioxidant capacity, hesperidin neohesperidin concentrations. In terms TPC, TFC, antibacterial activity, both fractions demonstrated moderate high bioactivity. At final step, ethanol precipitation was that solubilized in hot water during HD it characterized by Fourier transform infrared, degree esterification, galacturonic acid content. The search for new forms to extend foodstuffs’ shelf-life through the use of natural compounds and extracts continues grow among researchers industry. In this line thought, main objective work was develop, characterize evaluate effectiveness an active food packaging based on polylactic acid (PLA) incorporated with obtained from grape and/or pomegranate by-products. vitro, antioxidant methods were applied capacity three extracts: wort extract, freeze-dried peels extract (PPE-FD), (PPE-N). Punicalagin (A + B) ellagic determined in PPE-FD, PPE-N, films by UHPLC-DAD. New PLA-based PPE-FD (PLA/3PPE) (PLA/3PP) developed, their chemical, mechanical, barrier properties evaluated. Moreover, film carried out study lipid oxidation state microbial contamination two high-fat content foodstuffs, almonds beef meat. presented high total phenolics flavonoid compounds. Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) peel is a potential source of bioactive phenolic compounds such as ellagic acid and α- β-punicalagin. This work explores the efficiency natural deep eutectic solvents combined with ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) pressurized liquid (PLE) for their extraction. Five NaDESs were evaluated by employing UAE (25 °C, 50 min) to determine total content (Folin–Ciocalteu assay) β-punicalagin contents (high-performance chromatography (HPLC-DAD)). The NaDES composed choline chloride (ChCl) glycerol (Gly) (1:2, molar ratio) was most efficient in when compared rest water extracts. Therefore, ChCl:Gly further using PLE at different temperatures (40, 80, 120 160 °C). PLE-NaDES extract obtained 80 °C 20 min 1500 psi exhibited highest PLE-water extracts under same conditions. Food waste presents a critical environmental and economic challenge across Europe. In the Mediterranean region, agricultural industry generates considerable quantities of citrus fruits, leading to significant byproduct waste, which remains underutilized. To help address this, this study explored valorization orange peel using non-thermal ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) one-factor-at-a-time experimental design investigate effects nine chemical physical UAE parameters.
