Abstract 4,4‐Dimethylsterol (RST), rich in rice bran oil, is often considered to have good lipid‐lowering properties, and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a special fatty acid, also similar but the low solubility poor oxidation stability limits their application food industry. Typically, sterol esters better after esterification. However, it difficult esterify 4,4‐dimethylsterol for its additional methyl groups. Therefore, microwave‐assisted esterification of with CLA was developed this study, function 4,4‐dimethylsterol–CLA (RSE) evaluated high‐fat diet (HFD)‐induced mice model. The results showed that when reaction condition molar ratio RST 1:3 catalyzed 5% (mol%) p‐toluene sulfonic 25% dodecyl benzene maintained at microwave reactor 125 min 100°C, highest rate 93.63% acquired. Furthermore, HFD‐induced experiments demonstrated RSE could significantly reduce body weight, as well serum liver triglyceride (TG) levels, while exert hepatoprotective properties compared RST. Additionally, found affect appetite regulate expression lipid metabolism–related genes mice. These findings suggest holds potential field functional foods.

Recent studies have highlighted the potential of unsaturated fatty acids in natural oils to influence virus replication. This study extracted ginseng seed oil (GSO) and evaluated its physiochemical parameters, lipid class, oxidation stability. GSO was then synthesized into an oil/water nanoemulsion (NE) through optimized formulation, time, temperature, storage conditions. GSO-NE showed no cytotoxicity up 5 µg/mL but effectively inhibited HCoV-OC43 replication suppressed proinflammatory biomarkers infected cells. RNA sequencing revealed significant alterations gene expression profile by treatment, particularly implicating ABC transporters signaling pathway. Notably, downregulated ABCG subfamily membrane proteins, crucial for regulation virus-infected The downregulation these genes (ABCG1, ABCG2, ABCG4, ABCG5/8) reversed GSO-NE, as demonstrated qRT-PCR. Furthermore, ABCG1 ABCG5/8 confirmed using immunoblotting techniques. These findings suggest a promising avenue future research or therapeutic applications.
