Abstract This study aimed to investigate the pharmacokinetics and acute toxicity of a single intravenous dose distilled Zanthoxylum piperitum (deZP) extract in ICR mice. The focus was on understanding absorption, distribution, elimination Terpinen-4-ol, major active component deZP, as well assessing its safety at administered dose. mice were deZP (2.4 mg/kg), plasma concentrations Terpinen-4-ol measured using LC-MS/MS various time points. Pharmacokinetic parameters such Cmax, Tmax, half-life, clearance rate calculated. In addition, clinical signs, mortality, biochemical markers monitored evaluate toxicity. rapidly absorbed, reaching peak concentration (Cmax) 609.0 ng/mL within 0.083 hours (Tmax). It exhibited short half-life 0.168 high 194.1 L/h/kg. No mortality or significant signs observed. Biochemical parameters, including liver kidney function markers, remained normal ranges, indicating that well-tolerated. pharmacokinetic profile suggests rapid absorption while assessment indicates good tolerability tested These findings provide foundation for further exploration deZP's therapeutic potential.

Background: Neuropathic pain can be triggered by chemotherapy drugs such as paclitaxel (PTX). Management of is limited drugs' ineffectiveness and adverse effects. Isopulegol (ISO) a monoterpene present in the essential oils several aromatic plants has promising pharmacological activities. Objectives: to evaluate antinociceptive activity ISO PTX-induced neuropathic model. Methods: toxicity was evaluated healthy cancerous cells. Behavioral assessments were performed using von Frey acetone tests. We investigated involvement GABAergic pathway, NMDA, TNF-α, release GABA glutamate presence ISO. Results: showed little or no cytotoxicity U87 MDA-MB-231 In both acute subacute treatment, at doses 25, 50, 100 mg/kg (* p < 0.05) increased mechanical nociceptive threshold animals compared control group reduced thermal sensitivity. Its action reversed pre-treatment with flumazenil potentiated NMDA antagonist, MK-801. TNF-α levels tests carried out. Conclusions: shows low neuronal cells its association PTX generated synergism cytotoxic action. The effect due activation antagonism receptors involves stabilization plasma membranes leading an imbalance neurotransmitters, favoring GABA-mediated inhibition over glutamatergic excitation.

Zingiber Mill. is the second-largest genus of Zingiberaceae family. The members this are known for their diverse applications in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare fields due to richness bioactive components found essential oils (EOs). This study aims provide information about EOs’ chemical composition biological activities from 23 species. A literature survey was performed via scientific databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Google Scholar, ethnobotanical textbooks. Clustering analysis conducted using Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) construct phylogenetic trees. Various studies have revealed that β -pinene, α -caryophyllene, -elemene, bicyclogermacrene, sabinene, camphene, linalool, ( E )-nerolidol, terpinen-4-ol, 1,8-cineole, humulane-1,6-dien-3-ol, -phellandrene, zerumbone representative ingredients EOs. ABSTRACT Dark tea has received growing attention in recent years due to its distinctive aroma and potential health benefits. The overall profile of dark is determined by the combined effects diverse odor‐active compounds (OACs). However, comprehensive studies on these remain limited. Beyond role sensory perception, could also exert physiological functions? Existing research primarily focused benefits non‐volatile components tea, such as polyphenols, polysaccharides, theanine. OACs influence processes via olfactory receptors (ORs) remains underexplored literature. Accordingly, we systematically classify comprehensively review OACs. Furthermore, examine OAC–OR interactions, encompassing not only their roles recognition emotion regulation nasal ORs but therapeutic applications mediated non‐nasal ORs. Interestingly, our findings reveal that follow a “structure‐similarity–function‐convergence” trend both bioactivity aromatic properties. Specifically, structurally similar impart analogous profiles may share comparable functions. This phenomenon provides new insights into flavor compounds. enhances understanding systematically, for first time, explores health‐related functions interactions between It offers future integrative food shed light synergistic odor bioactive regulation.
