To investigate the effects of lemongrass essential oil on key volatile aroma compounds pickled radish (PR) during storage, this study used headspace–gas chromatography–ion mobility spectrometry, fingerprint analysis, multivariate statistical and molecular docking to different PR samples. The results indicated that a total 48 aromatic were identified. Fingerprint analysis revealed profiles samples at storage stages different. Using screening criteria p < 0.05 variable importance for projection > 1 in relative odor activity value 1, six potential selected. Furthermore, phenylethyl acetate, β-ocimene, 4-heptanone, limonene determined as affect profile after adding oil. Moreover, addition increased fruit sweet storage. recognition these four odors was mainly accomplished through hydrophobic interactions hydrogen bond by OR1A1 OR5M3 receptors. This can offer preliminary foundation theoretical support in-depth exploration paocai industry.

Background: Due to their antibacterial activities, essential oils can be potential alternatives antibiotics in certain cases. West Indian lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) oil (LEO) is effective against a broad range of bacteria by inhibiting spore formation, and considered safe. In this study, we demonstrated its therapeutical the treatment pitted keratolysis (PK), superficial skin infection affecting pressure-bearing areas plantar surfaces. Methods: For vitro efficacy testing, LEO was mixed into different ointment bases, including Hydrogelum methylcellulose FoNo VIII., Ungentum oleosum VIII. (Ung. oleoso), Unguentum stearini stearin), Vaselinum cholesterinatum (Vasel. cholest.), at concentrations 1, 3, 5%. These formulations were tested on representatives three bacterial species associated with PK: Kytococcus sedentarius, Dermatophilus congolensis, Bacillus thuringiensis. Results: tests, (HM) gel best supported effects LEO, reducing number living agar plates 4–5 orders magnitude concentration-dependent manner during 30 min exposure times. This also confirmed Franz diffusion cell drug release test; after min, several active compounds could detected HM samples, contrast other bases. Shelf-life experiments showed that base features 3% for least 2 years without significant loss efficacy. Conclusions: Our study highlights ointments containing potentially have place PK. Therefore, may replaced PK, thereby environmental antibiotic pressure, which one driving forces behind spread resistance.

The specie of Eugenia uniflora L., commonly known as Pitanga, is a tree from the Myrtaceae family widely distributed in Brazil and South American. Presents recognized ethnopharmacological activities, mainly due to leaves essential oil (EO). However, few studies have investigated correlations between composition biological all them using one-dimensional gas chromatography (GC/MS). This study discusses chemical pitanga OE by GC×GC/TOFMS, vitro antioxidant activity (DPPH ORAC assay), ocular irritation Hen's Egg Test-Chorioallantoic Membrane (HET-CAM). 89 compounds were identified more than usual literature GC/MS, including selina-1,3,7(11)-trien-8-one epoxide (20.09%) marker this specie. Isospathulenol, dimethyl-bicyclo[octanone]-diisopropylidene, 14-oxi-α-muurolene, 2-α-acetoxy-amorpha-4,7(11)-dien-8-one also found. OE's DPPH assays showed 95.5/mL 685.6 µmol TE/g, respectively, while HET-CAM assay non-ocular irritating potential. Therefore, one can consider be most complete involving oil.
