The consumption of garlic (Allium sativum), recognized for its historical medicinal significance, is linked to diverse health benefits. In particular, red stands out distinct anthocyanin content, contributing unique pink-purple clove color, yet despite extensive research on the pharmacological properties extracts, there remains limited evidence specifically addressing therapeutic potential garlic. A narrative search was conducted in February 2024 PubMed and Google Scholar identify relevant studies examining effects extracts. Following selected databases, 789 articles were retrieved 10 laboratory included this literature review, exploring impact extracts models lung digestive tract phlogosis, cancer, microbial proliferation, obesity, responses inflammation or oxidative stress. analyzed both aged fresh with a specific emphasis water outcomes highlighted significant antioxidant anti-inflammatory also suggesting pro-metabolic that could be beneficial excessive weight dyslipidemia. Moreover, results point inhibitory effect cancer cell proliferation by byproducts superior profile hydroalcoholic extract. Comparative analyses between black indicate inconclusive regarding activity. findings suggest high level tolerability gut microbiota. This review aims provide valuable insights into emphasizes need further fully elucidate their benefits mechanisms action.

Chlorogenic acids are plant secondary metabolites, chemically-polyphenols with similar biological activity, formed through the esterification of quinic acid and hydrocinnamic moieties. They best known for their high concentration in coffee other dietary sources antioxidant properties that they exhibit. Both chlorogenic extracts containing significant amounts compounds show promising vitro activity against colorectal cancer. With being most popular drink world, cancer at an unfortunate peak incidence mortality, mechanisms which anti-tumorigenic effect could be functionalized CRC prevention seem appealing to study. Therefore, this review aims enable a better understanding modes action combating carcinogenesis, focus on cell cycle arrest, induction apoptosis, modulation Wnt, Pi3K/Akt, MAPK signal transduction pathways, alongside reduction number inflammatory cytokines chemokines counterintuitive beneficial elevation oxidative stress.

Officinal plants are a source of metabolites whose chemical composition depends on pedoclimatic conditions. In this study, the NMR-based approach was applied to investigate impacts different altitudes and agronomical practices (Land, Mountain Spontaneous, Organically Grown Ecotypes, namely LSE, MSE, OE, respectively) metabolite profiles Burdock root, Dandelion root aerial part, Lemon balm part. Sugars, amino acids, organic polyphenols, fatty other were identified quantified in all samples. Some turned out be tissue-specific markers. Arginine found roots, whereas myo-inositol, galactose, glyceroyldigalactose moiety, pheophytin, chlorophyll parts. Caftaric chicoric 3,5 di-caffeoylquinic acid, chlorogenic rosmarinic acids detected Dandelion, balm, respectively. The amount changed significantly according crop, tissue type, ecotype. All ecotypes had highest contents lowest an opposite trend observed balm. parts contained high levels carbohydrates, except for MSE which showed content acids. results provided insights into chemistry officinal plants, thus supporting nutraceutical–phytopharmaceutical research.
