Loading silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) onto vaterite CaCO3 has been proposed as a promising strategy for achieving sustained release of Ag+, enhancing the oligodynamic effect, and enabling wide range applications in biomedical, active packaging, catalysis, antimicrobial coatings. However, review manuscript focusing on synthesis methods delivery vehicle AgNPs is lacking. This aims to provide comprehensive overview preparation techniques CaCO3-Ag hybrid microspheres examine their benefits advancing industrial applications. Various techniques, including in-situ precipitation, adsorption, mirror reaction, ultrasonic spray-pyrolysis, are covered compared.
