Aortic dissection (AD) is a life-threatening vascular condition marked by the separation or tearing of aortic media. Ferroptosis, form iron-dependent programmed cell death, occurs alongside lipid peroxidation and accumulation reactive oxygen species (ROS). The relationship between ferroptosis AD lies in its damaging effect on cells. In AD, worsens damage to smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) endothelial (ECs), thereby weakening wall’s structural integrity accelerating onset progression condition. However, molecular mechanisms through which regulates remain poorly understood. This article explores AD.
