Fostering
niche
leaders
to
achieve
technological
breakthroughs
has
become
a
national
strategic
priority
in
emerging
markets
order

technology
blockades

progress.
Previous
research
indicates
that
achieving
breakthrough
innovation,
particularly
for
firms
with
resource
constraints,
is
multifaceted
phenomenon
occurring
across
various
levels.
Based
on
the
technology–organization–environment
(TOE)
framework,
this
paper
aims
examine
influence
of
technological,
organizational,
environmental
factors
innovation
from
configurational
perspective.
Using
dynamic
qualitative
comparative
analysis
(QCA),
we
analyzed
panel
data
87
Chinese
(2018–2023)
through
inter-group,
intra-group,
pooled
comparisons
uncover
distinct
pathways
innovation.
Our
findings
reveal
three
effective
pathways:
an
R&D-driven
pathway,
digital
transformation-driven
comprehensive
support
pathway.
Additionally,
identified
two
leading
absence
high-breakthrough
innovation:
conservative
management
configuration,
island
configuration.
results
underscore
essential
role
government
subsidies,
complementary
impact
transformation
R&D,
restrictive
effect
rigid
governance
structures.
Furthermore,
these
demonstrate
significant
regional
variations
temporal
evolution,
highlighting
context-dependent
nature
economies.

Against
the
backdrop
of
an
ongoing
energy
revolution,
this
study
measured
regional
green
efficiency
and
ecological
niche
suitability
high-tech
industry
innovation
ecosystems
using
Super-SBM
entropy
methods.

provinces
