As digital technologies advance rapidly, their applications to environmental governance are becoming increasingly widespread. Against this backdrop, we focus on the critical area of water pollution control. Using a fixed-effects model, empirically examine impact monitoring and administration corporate emissions mechanisms involved. The findings as follows: (1) is significantly positively correlated with emissions, indicating that while enhances detection capabilities, it has not yet effectively curbed emissions. (2) Digital reduces (3) moderates relationship between technological innovation pollution, whereas moderating effect significant. (4) heterogeneity analysis reveals pollution-reduction effects vary respect ownership structure industry competitiveness. This study provides theoretical foundations practical insights for improving regulation policies.
