Approximately 1.3 billion metric tons of agricultural and food waste is produced annually, highlighting the need for appropriate processing management strategies. This paper provides an exhaustive overview utilization agri-food as a biosorbents elimination volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from gaseous streams. The review underscores critical role in context circular economy, wherein not viewed final product, but rather valuable resource innovative processes. perspective consistent with principles efficiency sustainability. Various types have been described effective biosorbents, methods preparation discussed, including thermal treatment, surface activation, doping nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur atoms. further investigates applications these adsorbing VOCs streams elucidates primary mechanisms governing adsorption process.
