Although Zr-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) exhibit robust chemical and physical stability in the presence of moisture acidic conditions, their susceptibility to nucleophilic attacks from bases poses a critical challenge overall stability. Herein, we systematically investigate UiO-66 (UiO = University Oslo) MOFs basic solutions. The impact 11 standard bases, including inorganic salts organic on these is examined. destruction framework confirmed through powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) patterns, monitored dissolution ligands assessed using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Our key findings reveal direct correlation between strength concentration base MOFs. summarized data provide valuable insights that can guide practical application under offering essential information for optimal utilization various settings.

A sulfur-based COF has been combined with graphitic carbon nitride (CN) in microwave-assisted synthesis to build a COF-CN heterostructure enhanced photocatalytic activity. The prepared were fully characterized, analyzing the textural (N2 isotherms), structural (XRD and FTIR), chemical (elemental analysis XPS), morphological (HR-STEM), optical (DRS-UV–Vis photoluminescence) electrochemical properties (EIS impedance, transient photocurrent, flat band potential). Different COF-to-CN ratios (5–25 % of COF, wt.) explored, defining proportion (20 %) that led optimum activity for oxidation organic contaminants emerging concern (CECs) due an separation photogenerated charges lower bandgap value, 2.55 vs. 2.35 eV. performance was further tested other CECs, demonstrating its benefits comparison bare CN. materials displayed acceptable reusability stability. mechanism activation highlights importance played by superoxide radicals holes.

Polluted water has become a concern for the scientific community as it causes many severe threats to living beings. Detection or removal of contaminants present in wastewater and attaining purity that can be used various purposes are primary responsibility. Different treatment methods have already been purification sewage. There is need low-cost, highly selective, reusable materials efficiently remove pollutants purify contaminated water. In this regard, MOFs shown significant potential applications such supercapacitors, drug delivery, gas storage, pollutant adsorption, etc. The outstanding structural diversity, substantial surface areas, adjustable pore sizes make them superior candidates treatment. This Review provides an overview interaction science engineering (kinetic thermodynamic aspects with interactions) underpinning purification. First, fundamental strategies synthesis MOFs, different categories, their applicability summarized, followed by detailed explanation mechanisms. Finally, current challenges future outlooks research on MOF toward adsorption hazardous components discussed. A new avenue modifying characteristics separation materials, which will undoubtedly direct work, also summarized.
