Since the beginning of 21st century, recognizing need for sustainable development and protection ecosystems, United Nations international agencies have been actively promoting natural environment. The construction ecological networks (EN), as one these efforts, emphasizes connectivity between patches their ability to support ecosystem services (ES). Currently, constructing using a comprehensive evaluation criterion has become important ways maintain ecosystems. Large-scale loss and fragmentation of natural habitats is one the critical factors in global decline biodiversity. Habitat quality foundation for supporting biodiversity, so exploring mechanisms by which habitat affects important biodiversity protection. However, little known about specific forms that various processes affect quality. Taking China as an example, three (the decrease area, increase isolation, edge) variations were quantitatively assessed from 2000 to 2020. The trade-off of ecosystem services should be considered in ecological security pattern (ESP) construction, which can reflected landscape multifunctionality and comprehensive importance. Multi-intensity ESPs management is also required to achieve effective planning. In this study, we proposed an approach multi-intensity construction that integrated multifunctional identification multi-criteria decision-making into source identification, categorized sources based on the "trend-status-risk" framework, with a case study city belt along Yellow River Ningxia. results showed optimal weights four habitat maintenance, water conservation, carbon sequestration soil retention decision making were 0.5000, 0.2071, 0.1589 0.1340, respectively. degree was 0.6612, overall conservation efficiency 1.5212. Conservation priority areas had overlapping area 2189.38 km2, accounting for 84.86% identified through multifunctionality. As a crucial component of the ecological security pattern, source (ES) plays vital role in providing ecosystem service value (ESV) and conserving biodiversity. Previous studies have mostly considered ES only from either landscape change pattern or function perspectives, ignored their integration spatio-temporal evolutionary modeling. In this study, we proposed multi-perspective framework for characteristics by ESV incorporating aesthetics, carbon sink characteristics, quality, kernel NDVI (kNDVI). By integrating revised normalized difference vegetation index as foundation, employed spatial priority model to identify ES. This improvement aims yield more practical specific result. Applying Three-River Headwaters Region (TRHR), significant sources has been observed 2000 2020. performance provided reference conservation TRHR. Urban agglomeration is the highest stage of urban development, which reasonable planning will be conducive to rapid and healthy development regional economy. The ecological supply–demand mismatch resulting from rapid urbanization stands as a core challenge affecting regional sustainability. This study constructed networks the perspective of circulation processes flow within regions, and proposed novel relationships evaluation index system. case results six typical cities in 'Upstream-Midstream-Downstream' Yellow River Basin demonstrate that our system can more accurately reveal dynamic interaction resources urban area degree mismatch. Additionally, we found relationship upstream is better than midstream downstream cities, with exhibiting worst performance. Furthermore, over past 20 years, all have consistently deteriorated, maximum decline reaching 39.8 %. Social development factors driven imbalance changes resource allocation spatial connectivity between supply demand sides, serving key factor driving deterioration relationships. Since the Anthropocene, global natural ecosystems have suffered more severe and accelerating harm than at any other period in history. The growing conflict between urban expansion ecological conservation highlights importance of finding a balance. Ecological security pattern (ESP) focuses on minimizing cost-benefit ratio while maintaining minimum level land use demand. It is an effective spatial tool for balancing sprawl conservation, sustaining regional safeguarding human well-being, thus fostering sustainable development. However, when identifying ESP, it still unclear whether core areas specific or comprehensive ecosystem characteristics should be highlighted. In this study we established three ESP construction scenarios to explore trade-off conservations characteristics. Scenario 1 3 respectively tended prioritize respectively, 2 represented intermediate approach. Furthermore, effectiveness were assessed choose best solution under objectives health, landscape connectivity integrated . results showed that had largest number sources corridors, being 5.82 times 7.48 1, respectively. total area each scenario was 1626 km2, accounting 24% area. Besides, with 705 km2. Natural reserves Helan Mountain, Sha Lake, Baijitan identified as all scenarios, emphasizing their importance. exhibited better representativeness demonstrated highest conservation. not optimal objectives. suggested characteristic benefits. Protected areas are essential for the conservation of biodiversity. However, rapid expansion urbanization and intensification human activities have significantly disrupted environmental integrity, leading to a continuous deterioration in both quantity quality large ecological patches. This has further diminished connectivity among patches, significant consequences regional biodiversity conservation. Taking Poyang Lake as case study, which serves crucial wintering habitat migratory birds along East Asia-Australasia flyway, this research employs ArcMap technology. It considers various factors including land use type, slope, elevation evaluate degradation through application InVEST model. Additionally, study utilizes minimum cumulative resistance (MCR) model alongside circuit theory delineate corridors within area establish comprehensive network system. The results paper follows.
