Artificial reclamation is one of the main means land expansion in coastal cities. However, permeability underlying soft clay (USC), derived from dredged load, has not been paid enough attention, although it closely related to long-term deformation and stability foundation soil. Hence, this paper analyzes relationship between characteristics microscopic pore USC Chongming East Shoal (CES), a typical multi-phase area, through variable head test, mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) scanning electron microscope (SEM) test. Furthermore, grey relation entropy Pearson correlation analysis are implemented analyze influence micropore parameters on permeability. The results revealed that seepage process showed transition unstable relatively stable seepage. Meanwhile, coefficient (PC) attenuated with time cyclically, indicating alternating effect closed opened channels. During seepage, particles could be entrained by water intercepted pores, thus clogging Then, increased pressure break new degree was positively correlated average cycle period PCs, also present stage PCs. A lower mesopores content, higher fractal dimension, aggregated flocculate microstructure promote result efficiency. Affected channels, may face potential future, which needs further investigation.

Abstract The dynamic coupled hydro‐thermo‐mechanical behavior of the unlined structure in saturated porous under extreme geotechnical and geology engineering (e.g., underground explosion, laser thermal rock breaking) has aroused extensive research interests constitutive modeling transient responses prediction. Despite current models that have been historically proposed, model construction is still based on classical thermoelastic coupling theory (Fourier heat conduction model). In study transfer environments, flux at a certain point not only affected by instantaneous source but also depends temperature gradient effect its historical flow. To address this deficiency, work aims to construct new introducing multi‐dual‐phase lag law. proposed applied investigate structural response cylindrical tunnel poroelastic medium applying Laplace transformation approach. influences parameters wave propagation as well dimensionless temperature, displacement, stress, pore water pressure were evaluated discussed.

Straw return and straw-derived biochar are promising practices for improving soil physicochemical properties crop production. However, the integrated effects of a single application on moisture, heat, salinity transport, their regulation mechanism water use efficiency (WUE) in salt-affected soils still understood deeply. Four amendments were used: control without any additives (CK), direct 10 t ha -1 straw (BJ), treatments 15 (B15), 30 (B30). Application generally increased moisture content during whole growth periods. Temperature top cm by 0.97°Cfor B30 1.08°C BJ when averaged two growing seasons. The led to slight reduction pH from 0~30 cm, while did not significantly also 30-cm depth salinity. desalting ratio at maturity decreased slightly first season but second across years. enhanced yield, WUE, net income. These improved more year than year. two-year average WUE profit values BJ. Thus, amendment is recommended improve water-heat environment, income adjusting degree salinization.

The Hetao Irrigation District is a typical salinized irrigation district in China, and soil salinization restricts agricultural development. To explore the spatial temporal variability of water salt coupling relationship District, field experiment was carried out at scale Yichang branch canal downstream District. Fifty-three sampling points were established to analyze content total using geostatistics degree model. results showed that study area belonged medium weak variability, strong variability. theoretical models semi-variance function following Gaussian model, with block-base ratio less than 25%, autocorrelation, correlation gradually increased increase depth. interpolated higher accuracy radial basis functions as compared ordinary kriging interpolation. In terms changes salinity, average accumulation rate 0–100 cm layer 20.17% when salinity from May June; desalination 16.37% decreased June August. main factors affecting cultivated land during growing period irrigation, precipitation, planting crops, wasteland precipitation topography. lower land, ranging 65.15% 86.59% land. level coordination marginal for disorder wasteland. provides prevention control arid areas.

The essence of vibratory compaction high-speed railway graded aggregate (HRGA) materials lies in both internal particle rearrangement and breakage. However, there is a research gap on the level breakage effects characteristics. A novel index, contribution rate Cb, was proposed to quantify characteristics based theoretical derivation. Additionally, relationship between gradation, maximum dry density (MDD) Cb established using high-performance machine learning (ML) model. Finally, impact under different conditions, including vibration parameters, container size, sample thickness, explored through laboratory tests (LVCTs). results show that better predicted by PSO-ANN-ML model (the comprehensive evaluation index testing set 4.028). Under has significant important effect determining actual (ADD). When Cb>8.8%, it may lead over-compaction, which negative overall quality compacted structure. Based analysis ADD, recommended frequency should be inherent sample, while ratio excitation force static load controlled at 1.8. diameter thickness size 4.4 3.5, respectively. study implications for control understanding mechanism.

The salt swelling destruction in arid sulfate saline soil areas represents a severe problem road, railway, and foundation engineering. It is imperative to explore potential solution solve the for soil. However, vaporous water has large effect on forms of sodium present soil, which not been taken into account by existing models. This work proposes an improved heat-water-vapour-salt based model considering effect. Experiments unsaturated soils were conducted validate accuracy model. Besides, effects temperature, content, relative humidity, solute concentration reasonably analyzed. results show that rate increases 64% when humidity reaches 60–90%; once exceeds 90%, will decline 0%. Moreover, follows upward convex curve along decreases with increasing liquid content. When content above 10%, stable at around 0.3. Overall, more accurate predicting than model, shows exceptional promise providing useful insight understanding mechanism prevention soils.
