Assessment of Knowledge and Outcomes of Nomophobia Among Students at a Selected Degree College in Riyadh

Nomophobia,
the
fear
of
being
without
a
mobile
phone,
is
increasingly
prevalent
among
university
students,
impacting
their
psychological
well-being
and
academic
performance.
This
study
assesses
level
knowledge
psychological,
academic,
social
outcomes
associated
with
nomophobia
students
at
King
Saud
University,
Riyadh,
Saudi
Arabia.
A
descriptive
cross-sectional
design
was
employed,
involving
350
undergraduate
recruited
via
convenience
sampling.
Data
were
collected
using
structured
questionnaire
adapted
from
Nomophobia
Questionnaire
(NMP-Q).
Statistical
analyses,
including
statistics,
Pearson
correlation,
multiple
regression,
conducted
IBM
SPSS.
The
majority
participants
(51.4%)
exhibited
moderate
nomophobia.
Higher
scores
significantly
lower
performance
(r
=
-0.35,
p
<
0.001)
greater
distress,
anxiety
(mean
score
5.2)
panic
when
phone
battery
low

Regression
analysis
identified
gender

Background/Objectives:
Nurse
practitioners
(NPs)
play
a
pivotal
role
in
delivering
medical
care,
leveraging
their
specialized
training
and
broader
range
of
authorities
than
registered
nurses,
as
approved
by
the
Ministry
Health.
Since
2009,
Israel
has
expanded
NP
to
include
diverse
specialties
such
palliative
geriatrics,
diabetes,
surgery,
health
policy.
Introducing
new
professional
into
system
is
complex,
resource-intensive
process
that
requires
collaboration
across
stakeholders.
Globally,
NPs
are
recognized
for
preventing
hospitalizations
achieving
improved
care
outcomes,
with
high
patient
satisfaction.
However,
Israel,
NPs’
perceptions
contributions
remain
underexplored.
This
study
aims
assess
perception,
system,
attitudes
toward
development
geriatric
care.
Methods:
The
mixed-methods
included
26
in-depth
interviews
an
online
survey
89
(29
geriatrics
60
care).
Results:
Most
women
(84%),
Israeli
natives
(69%),
Jewish
(64%).
More
half
(53%)
have
1–4
years
experience
practitioners,
71%
employed
full
time.
Regarding
work
environment,
feel
supervisors
patients
appreciative
they
considered
authorities.

expanding
authorities,
aligning
demands,
fostering
trust
between
establishment.

This
study
combines
innovation
resistance
theory,
the
stimulus–organism–response
(SOR)
framework,
and
job
demands–resources
model
to
facilitate
an
in-depth
exploration
of
barriers
faced
by
healthcare
professionals
psychological
responses
they
exhibit
when
adopting
AI-supported
technologies.
We
conducted
a
questionnaire
survey
obtained
296
valid
