Abstract Due to anthropogenic activities, the water quality of freshwater bodies is rapidly decreasing. The aim this study was assess and phytoplankton diversity in upper Ravi River basin between September 2022 August 2023. Overall, within allowable limits, but sampling zone 3, there a deteriorating trend certain physicochemical parameters, including turbidity, dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand during monsoon months. Bacillariophyceae (11 genera) most dominant group followed by Chlorophyceae (8 genera). A total 23 different genera were observed. It can be concluded that human such as mining riverbeds, construction dams barrages, have direct impact on diversity. These activities need monitored regular basis.

Abstract Fish intake may constitute a significant route by which humans are exposed to metals, especially people who depend on fish as source of protein Alexandrians. Therefore, this study aimed investigate the metal contents in muscles eight commonly consumed freshwater (Tilapia, Catfish, and Common Carp) marine species (Emperors, Groupers, Mackerels, Silver Pomfret, Roving Groupers) collected from local markets located Alexandria City for 1-year calendar year, 2022. Seasonal variations levels tested metals species, with differences between were recorded. Also, Cu, Zn, Fe, Co, Cd all during experiment did not exceed guideline limits, while Ni, Cr, Pb October–May, June–September, February–May 2022, respectively, exceeded permissible limits settled FAO WHO. Additionally, Mackerels Groupers had high-level Mn that European Commission. The accumulation these different relative variation accumulation, Cu was most predominant element Tilapia, Zn Fe Carp, Emperors, Co Tilapia. Consumption high Metal Pollution Index (MPI) value pose potential public health risk. On meantime, calculated values estimated daily intakes (EDI), hazard index (HI), target quotient (THQ) indicated no risk Alexandrians via consumption because they World Health Organization’s acceptable intake.

Benefiting from easy visualization and simultaneous detection of multiple targets, fluorescence microbeads are commonly used as fluorescence-sensing elements to detect pollutants in the environment. However, application microbead-based sensor arrays is still limited because dyes always suffer self-quenching, photobleaching, spectral overlap. Herein, three kinds gold nanoclusters (Au NCs) were assembled with polystyrene microspheres (PS NPs) by electrostatic interaction prepare (PS-Au NCs), developing a array for analysis metal ions. In this work, different PS-Au NCs showed an enhancing or quenching response various ions, owing distinct binding capacities. Combined recognition algorithm linear discriminant (LDA) hierarchical cluster (HCA), assay could realize single-component multicomponent qualitative 8 heavy ions (HMIs) including Cu

Abstract In this developing era, increased anthropogenic activities result in the contamination of natural resources. Different kinds pollutants threaten water quality being crucial for existence life. There are different sources and routes through which cause health consequences. This systematic review consists classification a particular focus on toxicological studies aquatic life, soil, plants humans with comparative account conservation technologies. study, various databases like Scopus, Science Direct, Google Scholar, Research Gate Web were used to find most relevant recent literature till September 2024. Studies selected based their classes pollutants, routes, cumulative effects remediation successfully managed classify found significant association between exposure disorders shown by life human health. is number evidence neurological disorders, reproductive endocrine disruptions. However, effect can also be seen both as well terrestrial ecosystems. Long-term presents risks indicates degrading drinking provides insight into emergence need strong preventive policies. It suggests necessity cost-effective advanced technologies availability safe water.

Abstract Freshwater ecosystems are intricately linked to the diversity and abundance of zooplankton assemblages, which serve as vital indicators environmental conditions. The aim present study was investigate habitat ecology in relation Ravi River. Sampling conducted at selected sampling sites along River basin, encompassing various types gradients. A total 13 species were observed during Copepoda most dominant followed by Cladocera. Cyclops sp. (152 ind/L) Bosmina (145 genera throughout study. Asplanchana (44 a rare Some ecological parameters like water temperature, dissolved oxygen, solids show declining trend Zone 3. Turbidity highest 3 lowest 1, almost all showed Dissolved oxygen shows significant positive correlation directly influences distribution assemblage structure. This concludes that certain anthropogenic activities municipal dumping, sand mining, altered flow have negatively impacted quality So, these should be monitored regularly controlled immediately.
