A negative Poisson’s ratio structure has special deformation behavior and energy absorption characteristics, is a new with broad application prospects. However, most of the current research still at micro theoretical level, there less on macro mechanical properties. Therefore, this paper proposes polyurethane elliptical (PES), uses methods experimental simulation numerical to carry out comparison concave (PCS) analyze influence length–width structure, highlighting advantages PES in absorption, using parameter analysis study structural form material properties elastic modulus PES, so as provide scientific basis technical support for high-end equipment manufacturing, seismic isolation other fields.

The key challenge in polymer science is developing sustainable synthesis methods using renewable feedstocks. This study explores plant-derived diarylheptanoids with various structures as the building blocks for polyurethane (PU) materials. Diarylheptanoid glucosides isolated from black alder (Alnus glutinosa) bark were hydrolyzed and fractionated to remove sugar moieties. resulting diarylheptanoids, along unhydrolyzed analogues curcumin, used biomass-based polyols synthesize model PU films. Incorporating enhanced mechanical strength reduced flexibility of due increased crosslinking, effects proportional OH functionality polyols. Weight loss, FTIR, Py-GC-MS/FID analyses revealed that catechol moieties glucosidic bonds are biodegradable structural subunits incorporated into Rigid foams (PURs) incorporating high-OH-functionality diarylheptanoid such oregonin demonstrated significantly higher compression less weight loss during non-isothermal thermal analysis air compared those commercial polyol-based foams. A cone calorimeter test showed PUR foam derivatives had a lower degradation rate, longer flame-burning time, 30% heat emission, 25% smoke, indicating improved flame retardancy. Adding 1–2% oregonin-enriched extracts Elastopir 1132/509/0 its resistance oxidative aging, outperforming antioxidant Irganox.

Polyurethanes (PUs) are one of the most versatile polymeric materials, making them suitable for a wide range applications. Currently, petroleum is still main source polyols and isocyanates, two primary feedstocks used in PU industry. However, due to future price uncertainties need eco-friendly alternatives, recent efforts have focused on replacing petrol-based isocyanates with counterparts derived from renewable resources. In this study, waste cooking oil was as feedstock obtain (POs) new sustainable polyurethane foams (PUFs). POs various hydroxyl numbers were synthesized through epoxidation followed by oxirane ring opening diethylene glycol. By adjusting reagent amounts (acetic acid H2O2), epoxidized oils (EOs) different degrees (50–90%) and, consequently, OH (200–300 mg KOH/g) obtained. Sustainable PUFs high bio-based content produced mixing commercial partially aliphatic isocyanate using water blowing agent presence gelling catalyst additives. Various (4, 8, 15 php) (0, 1, 2 tested assess their effect foam properties. also prepared EOs instead investigate potential use directly PUF production. Characterization included morphological, chemical, physical, thermal, mechanical analyses. The rigid exhibited density (150–300 kg/m³) stability up 200 °C. combined enabled 77 wt.%. demonstrated production bypassing second synthesis step, enhancing sustainability, significantly reducing energy costs; however, formulations require optimization lower epoxy reactivity.
