Recent technological advancement has revolutionized the field of non-traditional stable metal and metalloid isotopes for their wide range applications, from study earth surface interior processes, reconstructing past oceanic environments, tracing contaminants to biomedical investigations. Beyond conventional (e.g., H, C, O, N, S), this now explores a diverse array Li, B, Mg, Si, Ca, K, V, Cr, Ni, Fe, Cu, Zn, Sr, Mo, Cd, Ba, Hg, U) potential applications. This review delves into applications as an important tool sources elucidating various processes within realm earth, ocean, environmental studies. The fundamental concept mass-dependent -independent isotope fractionations are introduced first in article, followed by discussion on selected "emerging" like Li (δ7Li), B (δ11B), Mo (δ98Mo) highlighted proxy paleo-pH, paleo-redox conditions oceans respectively ; measurement techniques advantages/disadvantages including chemical extractions elements interest measurements using Multi-Collector Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (MC-ICPMS). Finally, article highlights caveats limitations, challenges, scopes future research isotopes.

Lithium, a critical material for the global development of green energy sources, is anomalously enriched in some coal deposits and by-products to levels that may be considered economically viable. Recovering lithium from coal, particularly gangue or ashes, offers promising alternative extracting this element. This process could potentially lead economic gains positive environmental impacts by more efficiently utilizing coal-based waste materials. review focuses on concentrations by-products, modes occurrence, methods used identify lithium-enriched phases, currently available hydrometallurgical recovery methods, correlated with pretreatment procedures enable release inert aluminosilicate minerals. Leaching raw appears inefficient, whereas fly ash are feasible due their simpler composition higher contents. Lithium extraction can achieve rates over 90%, but low high impurity leachates require advanced selective separation techniques. Bottom has not yet been evaluated recovery, despite its content compared feed coal.

This article presents a comprehensive review of lithium as strategic resource, specifically in the production batteries for electric vehicles. study examines global reserves, extraction sources, purification processes, and emerging technologies such direct methods. paper also explores environmental social impacts extraction, emphasizing need sustainable ethical practices within supply chain. As vehicles are projected to account over 60% new car sales by 2030, demand high-performance will persist, with playing key role this transition, even development alternatives lithium-ion batteries, sodium ammonium-based technologies. However, there is an urgent technological advancements reduce impact battery manufacturing. Additionally, ensuring safety LiBs during both use recycling stages critical EV adoption. concludes that essential improving safety, reducing costs, minimizing impacts, thereby securing supporting future mobility.
