A newly designed living membrane filtering module (LMFM) has been applied to promote synergistic cultivation phases and harvesting of Chlorella vulgaris microalgae. The LMFM is based on a biomembrane intercalated between two woven fabrics made polyester Dacron that allows an unprecedented simple microalgae recovery from the aqueous media. systematic comparison systems operated in parallel for biological carbon capture utilization (bCCU) was executed. performances photobioreactor with submerged (membrane photobioreactor, MPBR) were compared those conventional (PBR). PBR MPBR obtained 92 94% dioxide removal yields, respectively. presence did not significantly affect performance terms removal, which resulted elimination capacity per stage up 24.3 ± 4.4 g m–3 h–1 MPBR. indeed afforded remarkable enhancement microalgal biomass production composition lipids, lipid concentration 36% dry weight. produced almost 80% higher than PBR, allowed increase 77% total lipids. Lipid accumulation mainly attributed increased photon availability Integrating enhanced accumulation, increasing potentiality algal-based biofixation as effective biorefinery technology.

In this study, we used Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to evaluate the physical and operational properties of palladium (Pd)-based membrane composites, focusing on variables like temperature, differential pressure (ΔP), thickness, hydrogen (H2) permeability, H2 flux. The analysis revealed that first two principal components explained 53.16% total variance, indicating moderate explanatory power. Interdependencies were observed among flux, while ΔP functioned independently. This study found similarities membranes, such as eco-friendly chitosan-based which performed comparably conventional options Pd–PSS Pd–Cu/αAl2O3. Overall, PCA proved be an invaluable tool for uncovering hidden patterns, optimizing experimental processes, deepening understanding Pd-based membranes. findings underscore PCA’s potential enhance material performance promote sustainable alternatives, with practical benefits advancing separation technologies. illustrates how data-driven approaches can refine drive innovation in design.

This study assessed the bioconversion efficiency of Hermetia illucens larvae (BSFL) fed on food waste stored under different conditions, focusing nutritional and microbial quality resulting larval biomass. Food was prepared as a fresh diet (FD) or naturally contaminated at 20–22 °C (OS-T, opened storage-tempered) refrigeration, 5–8 (CS-C, closed storage-cooled). Refrigerated, storage (CS-C) led to highest rates reduction (91.0%) (30.2%), with exhibiting protein content (36.83%) compared FD (35.5%) OS-T (34.71%) groups. Microbiome analysis revealed that CS-C condition promoted beneficial yeasts like Pichia Diutia, which correlated positively improved safety. In contrast, supported spoilage fungi (Mucor, Rhizopus) elevated total aerobic counts (7.28 log CFU/g), indicating higher risks. The observed trends in most probably relate differences profiles, controlled cooling affected dynamics, preserving substrate supporting growth. These findings emphasize importance refrigerated, optimize bioconversion, improve value, minimize microbiological hazards.

The growing global population and increasing energy demands are placing immense pressure on the sustainability of fossil fuels due to resource depletion environmental concerns. Adopting a circular economy approach, which repurposes waste materials into alternative fuels, presents promising solution for reducing both fuel dependency generation. Diesel additives play critical role in enhancing quality performance; however, accurately monitoring their concentrations remains challenge, often leading overuse elevated costs. This study utilizes near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy coupled with partial least-squares (PLS) modeling enable real-time additive concentrations, optimizing application, We tested waste-derived oils─such as tire oil, plastic cooking oil─alongside conventional diesel, incorporating three key additives: cold-flow improver (CFI), conductivity-lubricating (CLI), cetane number (CNI). developed predictive models demonstrated calibration coefficients exceeding 0.98 RPD values 4.5 CFI, 2.7 CLI, 4.4 CNI. Repeatability tests produced RSD 3.9% 6.9% 7.2% Comprehensive validation, including external testing statistical evaluations (RMSEC, RMSEP, RMSECV), confirmed models' strong accuracy reliability. These findings highlight significant potential PLS precise determination diesel across range matrices, making them highly applicable industrial use further research.
