A
growing
body
of
research
has
emerged
in
recent
years
examining
the
influence
COVID-19
pandemic
on
future
cities,
regions
and
rural
places.
This
includes
potential
for
decentralised
housing
demand
–
an
urban
exodus
as
households
adapted
to
a
post-pandemic
society.
article
examines
‘pandemic
mobilities’
context
Ireland.
Based
survey
data
across
three
case
study
areas,
compares
pre-
‘movers’
examine
any
differences
types
moving
or
changes
motivations
relocating
households.
Rather
than
exodus,
our
indicates
that
residential
mobility
is
diverse
often
driven
by
return
migration
local
mobility,
influenced
pre-existing
family
networks.
The

be

Scientometric insights into urban sustainability: exploring the vulnerability-adaptation-settlements nexus for climate resilience

As
global
urbanization
accelerates,
the
rapidly
growing
urban
population
poses
significant
challenges
to
realization
of
sustainable
development.
The
Urban
Vulnerability–Adaptation–Settlements
(VAS)
nexus
has
emerged
as
a
critical
research
domain
address
these
challenges.
This
study
conducts
bibliometric
analysis
887
highly
cited
publications
from
Web
Science
Core
Collection
identify
key
scholars,
institutions,
countries,
core
domains,
and
emerging
trends
in
field.
findings
reveal
that:
(1)
Research
related
VAS
can
be
divided
into
three
developmental
phases:
initial
budding
stage
(1958–1991),
high-growth
(1992–2018),
stable
development
(2019–2024);
(2)
Current
primarily
focuses
on
urbanization,
land
industrial
development,
while
addressing
issues
such
environmental
sustainability,
social
equity,
smart
governance,
community
development;
(3)
Future
should
place
greater
emphasis
cities,
green
infrastructure,
energy
transitions,
also
exploring
policy
innovations
technological
advancements
foster
more
equitable
future.
Based
finding,
this
argues
that
future
lies
not
“speed
growth”
but
“quality
resilience.”
Researchers
are
encouraged
promote
multi-scale,
multi-dimensional
studies
coupling
mechanisms,
integrating
inclusive
goals
practice.

ABSTRACT
This
article
aims
to
explore
(im)mobility
patterns
of
older
adults
living
in
small
rural
Iowa
towns.
The
research
questions
addressed
were
focused
on
the
adults’
paths
their
current
place
residence,
plans
regarding
possible
relocation
future,
as
well
how
these
are
intertwined,
given
life
course
perspective.
data
drawn
from
in‐depth
interviews
conducted
with
25
residents
aged
65
years
and
over
four
communities.
Insights
also
gained
29
local
stakeholders
analysis
shows
that
great
majority
plan
staying
put
due
a
mixture
mostly
social,
functional
biographical
aspects
attachment.
However,
more
or
less
significant
depending
interviewees’
past
mobility
experiences.
Only
few
do
not
exclude
future.
These
outcomes
provide
new
perspective
classical
models
course.
