The compactness, diversity, and nested structures of the old districts in Chinese cities, terms their three-dimensional (3D) morphology, are particularly distinctive. However, existing multifractal measurement methods insufficient revealing these 3D structures. This paper introduces a approach based on generalized dimension Rényi entropy. In particular, local indicator τq(h) is introduced for analysis mapping units, with Nanjing Old City serving as case study. results indicate following: (1) significant fractal characteristics City, capacity value 2.344, indicating its limited spatial occupancy. (2) fluctuating spectrum ranges from 2.241 to 2.660, which differs previous studies, suggesting that morphology does not exhibit typical characteristics.
