Green carbon-based materials (GCM), i.e., carbon produced using renewable biomass or recycled waste, ought to be used make processes sustainable and carbon-neutral. In this review, following four applications were selected, works published last two years (since 2022) critically reviewed: agriculture, water treatment, energy management, dioxide reduction sequestration. Pharmaceuticals are increasingly significant contaminants in the environmental ecosystem, prompting exploration of photocatalysis as a promising method for removing their pollutants. However, application semiconductor metal oxides photocatalysts has been limited by issues such rapid photocarrier recombination and high band gap energy. One emerging strategy to enhance photocatalytic performance involves integrating them with carbon dots, which offer advantages including low toxicity, aqueous stability, increased surface area, cost effectiveness, biocompatibility, chemical inertness. In this study, we conducted critical review focusing on nanocomposite development oxide/carbon dots removal pharmaceutical Our study highlights that can significantly efficiency these materials improving adsorption organic pollutants enhancing light absorption visible spectrum. This aims provide insights future research aimed at advancing enhanced dot nanocomposites.
