Clear and sanitarily adequate water scarcity is one of the greatest problems modern society. Continuous population growth, rising organics concentrations, common non-efficient wastewater treatment technologies add to seriousness this issue. The employment various advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) in becoming more widespread. In review, state-of-the-art application three AOPs discussed detail: photocatalysis, sonophotolysis, sonophotocatalysis. Photocatalysis utilizes semiconductor photocatalysts degrade organic pollutants under light irradiation. Sonophotolysis combines ultrasound photolysis generate reactive radicals, enhancing degradation pollutants.
