Phytopharmaceuticals are the newly termed herbal medicine, which includes standardized extract, bioactive fraction, and phytoconstituent. They have been practiced to cure, treat, mitigate diseases. many health benefits, but their therapeutic efficacy is limited due poor absorption, low bioavailability, early elimination profile. A novel phospholipid complex a introduced patented technology developed incorporate plant extracts/fractions or water-soluble phytoconstituents into phospholipids produce lipid compatible molecular complex, called phytosome, improves absorption bioavailability. In formulations, phytosome most advanced dosage form that has an upgraded rate enhanced pharmacokinetics compared with conventional products. The results from hydrogen bonding between phytoconstituents, offering maximum incorporation of active ingredients lipidic layer core. increased formation amphiphilic phospholipid-complex medicine. This review highlights role on delivery bioactives natural extracts particular emphasis phytosomes. Moreover, status bioavailabilities, commercial products, patents, clinical trials phytosomal systems phytopharmaceuticals were addressed.

The therapeutic efficacy of various phytoconstituents is improved by the use phytosome, innovative drug delivery methods based on phytochemicals, enhancing their absorption, bioavailability, and availability. This exceedingly complex type herbal formulation contains active phytoconstituent extract joined a phospholipid molecule. They also operate as vesicular systems for wide range fascinating important phytoactives. phytosome method produces startlingly tiny spheres or cells, which advantageous in keeping phytochemical contents from being destroyed stomach environment. Phytosome produce pharmacokinetic pharmacodynamic effects that are more potent than those conventional extracts. demonstrated increased pharmacokinetics response when compared to botanical Through technology, bioavailability several most widely used extracts, such milk thistle, Ginkgo biloba, grape seed, green tea, hawthorn, ginseng, etc., has been improved. These drug-phospholipid complexes can be produced liquid solution, suspension, emulsion, syrup, lotion, gel, cream, tablet, capsule, powder, granule. purpose this review emphasize application how technology helped improve absorbance cosmeceuticals.
