This study aims to investigate relationship between addiction and health in students, as well explore mediating effects emotional intelligence this relationship. Objective main objective was examine whether (dimensions total) negatively predicts with acting a mediator. Methods To address objective, cross-sectional design an inferential approach employed. Data were collected using Wong Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS-S), Internet Addiction (IAS), Keyes’ Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF). total sample consisted 850 students from two large public higher education institutions Ethiopia, which 334 (39.3%) females 516 (60.7%) males, mean age 22.32 (SD = 4.04). For purpose study, data split into randomly selected groups: 1 300 participants for psychometric testing purposes, 2 550 complex mediation purposes. Various analyses conducted achieve stated objectives, including Cronbach’s alpha composite reliabilities, bivariate correlation, discriminant validity, common method biases, measurement invariance, structural equation modeling (confirmatory factor analysis, path analysis). Confirmatory analysis performed assess construct validity WLEIS-S, IAS, MHC-SF. Additionally, model examined corrected biased bootstrap method.
