The thermochemical conversion of disposable bamboo chopstick (DBC) wastes into biochar is a practical strategy for converting waste resources. This study aimed to investigate the effects pyrolysis temperature and holding time on physicochemical properties DBC its potential climate change mitigation. Properties affecting efficiency application were analyzed: moisture content (MC), volatile matter (VM), fixed carbon (FC), ash, pH, (C), hydrogen (H), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O) content. Six different conditions studied, with temperatures 400 °C, 450 500 °C times 20 60 min, at constant heating rate. results demonstrated that significantly affected performance biochar. Biochar is a value-added product that can be used for many purposes, particularly environmental and agricultural purposes. In this study, pyrolysis at 450–500 °C was to upgrade urban waste such as disposable bamboo chopsticks (DBCs) into biochar. The properties of DBC biochar were analyzed, the subsequently cultivate Romaine lettuce assess its potential soil amendment. Its properties, including specific surface area (SSA), pore size, volume, pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), contents carbon (C), hydrogen (H), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O), macronutrient content, atomic ratio H/C, O/C, (O+N)/C, C/N, analyzed. experimental pots consisted four treatments, each with ten replicates: unamended (TC), amended 10% (w/w) vermicompost (TV), mixed 1.5% (TVB1.5), 2.5% (TVB2.5). Fundamental physicochemical plant yield (plant height, leaf width, number leaves, fresh weight) investigated. results indicated neutral (pH 6.80) had high CEC (10.86 cmol/kg), 66.80% C, 3.76% H, 25.93% O, 0.61% N. It mesopores (39.077 Å), large SSA (0.542 m2/g), volume 0.005 cc/g. exhibited aromaticity hydrophobicity. Globally, the companies that make commercial use of bamboo culms produce different kinds solid waste rich in lignocellulosic biomass, which some cases is not used and discarded landfills or incinerated open air; losing possibility recovering them using other productive sectors. The research objective were to a biochar from Guadua agustifolia Kunth sawdust, evaluate its potential environmental agricultural use, obtain biochar/TiO2 composite inactivate Escherichia coli as soil conditioner medicinal plants producing phenolic compounds flavonoids.
