Jumli Marshi (J. Marshi) , a native rice cultivar in Nepal, is gaining popularity owing to its health benefits for obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. However, scientific evidence verifying therapeutic potential lacking until November 2024. Therefore, we aimed characterize the phytoconstituents evaluate antioxidant, antibacterial, antidiabetic properties of J. Marshi, along with ADME toxicity profile, using both vitro silico approaches. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis 70% methanol extract from identified ten plant-based compounds, including phenolic acids, flavonoids, γ-oryzanol. The exhibited significant antioxidant properties, neutralizing DPPH free radicals fifty-percentage inhibitory concentration (IC 50 ) 42.65 ± 3.9 µg/mL, compared ascorbic acid’s IC 4.12 0.7 µg/mL. It also showed antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus zone inhibition (ZOI) ranging 7 11 mm minimum (MIC) 1.56 mg/mL, standard antibiotics meropenem (ZOI: 24 1.6 mm; MIC: mg/mL). enzymatic assay demonstrated that inhibits fifty percent enzyme at (EC > 1000 µg/mL α -amylase 250 2.5 -glucosidase, contrast acarbose, exhibiting an EC 35.5 1.5 189.5 1.9 -glucosidase. In docking studies revealed strong interactions target protein catalytic residues, particularly gamma-oryzanol (−10.0 kcal/mol) chlorogenic acid -glucosidase (−7.7 kcal/mol), acarbose (−6.9 −7.1 kcal/mol). suggested tricin had best drug-likeness safety profiles. To our knowledge, this first study reveal presence bioactive acids flavonoids. Furthermore, it offers supporting -glucosidase-inhibitory confirming applications as functional food used management

Cocos nucifera (coconut) has been extensively studied for its nutraceutical and medicinal properties, but research on the haustorium of C. is limited. This study aimed to analyze antioxidative, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anticancer properties haustorium. Antimicrobial studies were conducted using a well diffusion technique, while antioxidative assays included DPPH, ABTS, H2O2 tests. Anti-inflammatory effects assessed egg albumin denaturation HRBC assays, activity was evaluated with MTT assay. Among tested bacterial strains, maximum inhibition zones 13.33 ± 0.58 mm E. coli 12.67 S. aureus at 100 µg/mL concentration. Regarding antifungal activity, extract demonstrated minimal effect against Candida albicans. The notable, DPPH showing 74.74 1.05%, ABTS 78.45 0.86%, hydrogen peroxide 71.64 0.68%, all concentration 50 µg/mL. anti-inflammatory through assay, which showed an 72.68 0.87%, 83.93 0.90%. These results comparable standard Diclofenac sodium, 81.33 0.95% in assay 88.3 0.66% Similar trends observed HepG2 cell line. treatment caused cells shrink fragment, indicating that exhibits significant leading apoptosis human IC50 43.91 µg/mL, without affecting normal cells. In conclusion, this highlight nucifera, suggesting it as potential promising candidate developing novel drugs field ethnopharmacology.

Few researches have explored the production of pharmaceuticals from aquatic plants. Therefore, this study explored, for first time, phytochemical composition and bioactivities ten Aquatic plant shoots various Nile River canals were collected, dried, ground aqueous extract preparation. Phytochemical antioxidant capacity assessed using DPPH assays. Extracts tested antiparasitic, antibacterial, anti-biofilm, anticancer activities through standard in vitro assays, measuring IC50 values, evaluating mechanisms action, including cell viability high-content screening The results showed that plants rich pharmaceutical compounds. these extracts exceeded vitamin C. promising antiparasitic activity against pathogens like Opisthorchis viverrini Plasmodium falciparum, with values between 0.7 2.5 µg/mL. They also demonstrated low MICs pathogenic bacteria, causing DNA damage, increased plasma membrane permeability, 90% biofilm inhibition. In terms activity, effective a panel cancer lines, Ludwigia stolonifera exhibiting highest efficacy. Its ranged 0.5 µg/mL pancreatic, esophageal, colon cells to 1.5 gastric cells. Overall, all below 6 µg/mL, showing significant apoptotic nuclear intensity, mitochondrial cytochrome c release, outperforming doxorubicin. This highlights potential as sources new, safe, drugs strong properties.
