This study investigated the relationship between surface meteorological variables and levels of air pollutants (O3, PM10, PM2.5) in scenarios simulated temperature increases Rio Grande, a medium-sized Brazilian city with strong industrial influence. utilized five years daily data (from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2023) model atmospheric conditions two pollutant 21 2021 20 simulate how would respond annual °C 2 °C, employing Support Vector Machine, supervised machine learning algorithm. Predictive models were developed for both averages seasonal variations. The predictive analysis results indicated that, when considering averages, concentrations showed decreasing trend as temperatures increased. same pattern was observed scenarios, except during summer, O3 increased rise. greatest reduction occurred winter (decreasing by 10.33% 12.32% under warming respectively), while PM10 PM2.5, most significant reductions spring. lack correlation levels, along their other variables, explains Grande. research provides important contributions understanding interactions climate change, pollution, factors similar contexts.

Rapid urbanization and industrialization have significantly impacted the air quality in India’s National Capital Region (NCR), posing severe environmental public health challenges. This study aims to identify micro-level pollution hotspots assess degradation NCR. integrates Sentinel-5P satellite data with ground station measurements. Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques regression analysis are employed refine validate satellite-derived across Analysis reveals variable levels NCR, significant concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) East North-East, carbon monoxide (CO) Central region. Aerosol Index identifies North-East as critical due industrial activities construction dust. Particulate matter often exceed national standards during colder months, particulate (PM2.5) (PM10) reaching up 300 µg/m3 350 µg/m3, respectively. Ground-based confirmed high ozone (O3) North-West, 0.125 ppm, emphasizing impact vehicular emissions. The integration imagery provided a comprehensive view spatial distribution pollutants, highlighting areas for targeted interventions. findings underscore need sustainable urban planning stricter emission controls mitigate Enhanced monitoring control strategies essential address identified hotspots, particularly East, regions.

Given that climate change can exacerbate the health impacts of air pollutants, we evaluated impact temperature increase scenarios on pollutant levels (O3, PM2.5, and PM10) in Porto Alegre Recife, Brazil. Air pollutants meteorological data were collected, simulations performed using a Support Vector Machine model with radial basis function kernel, applying increases 0.5°C, 1.0°C, 1.5°C, 2.0°C to predict future concentrations. The analyzed seasonally annually. Pearson correlation principal component analyses (PCA) explored relation conditions. Simulations revealed rising temperatures do not uniformly lead increased concentrations; instead, effects are highly dependent local climatic In Alegre, O3 throughout year, peak 14.14% during summer + scenario, while PM2.5 PM10 also showed marked seasonal increases. Conversely, decreased some seasons but autumn, particulate matter summer. findings underscore need for systems consider these dynamics their management strategies through location-specific investigations emphasize importance policy-driven adaptive measures build climate-resilient systems.
