Anaerobic digestion (AD) is one of the most extensively accepted processes for organic waste cleanup, and production both bioenergy fertilizer. Numerous mathematical models have been conceived modeling anaerobic process. In this study, a new modified dynamic model simulation biochemical physicochemical involved in AD process biogas was proposed. The validated, sensitivity analysis based on OAT approach (one-at-a-time) carried out as screening technique to identify sensitive parameters. developed by updating bio-chemical framework including more details concerning physico-chemical fraction X

This research explores how different organic waste transformation methods influence the production of humic substances (HSs) and their impact on soil quality. Using olive orange wastes as substrates, study compares vermicomposting, composting, anaerobic digestion processes to determine which method produces most humic-substance-rich products. The characterization HSs in each product included analyses total carbon (TOC), fulvic acid content, humification rate, degree, E4/E6 ratio, with extracted using potassium hydroxide (KOH) analyzed via Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier-Transform (DRIFT) spectroscopy assess structural complexity. results revealed that chemical composition input materials significantly influenced dynamics, by-products exhibiting a higher rate degree. Vermicomposting emerged efficient process, producing fertilizers superior greater microbial biodiversity, enhanced cation exchange capacity, thus markedly improving Composting also contributed stabilization matter, albeit less effectively than vermicomposting. Anaerobic digestion, by contrast, resulted products lower levels reduced nutrient content. Aerobic processes, particularly demonstrated rapid effective transformation, structurally complex, stable humus-like pronounced benefits for health. These findings underscore vermicomposting sustainable efficacious approach generating HS-rich fertilizers, presenting powerful alternative synthetic fertilizers. Furthermore, this highlights potential valorization mitigate environmental pollution foster circular economy practices agriculture.

Microplastics (MPs) persist for long periods in the environment, causing adverse effects on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. The accumulation of MPs various trophic levels mostly depends weathering phenomena, their reduced dimensions improved bioavailability; this ultimately causes ingestion by organisms living different niches. modern concern about toxicity collides with current unavailability standardized reliable methodologies to assess risks associated exposure from habitats. Hence, identification selection appropriate biomonitors pollution risk assessment should focus easy-to-implement assays, rapidly interpretable results (e.g., based bioaccumulation capabilities tissues) standardizable methodologies. present review analyzed some emerging exploited evaluation, selected examined according potential use as specific biological indicators diverse environments. research was focused plants, models airborne microfibers evaluation; mussels, key establishment marine environments; land snails, representing studies MPs’ impact soil. Furthermore, recent findings evidenced influence microplastics composition environmental microbiota, enhancing pathogenic biofilms formation, leading increased water, soil, food, crops waste contamination. Disposing harmonized validated methods study integrated promising machine learning tools, might sensibly support management strategies protecting human animal health.

ABSTRACT Native plants thriving in extreme environments host unique microbial communities that might play crucial roles promoting their growth and enhancing tolerance to harsh environmental conditions. In this study, the root‐associated were analysed from ten desert native plant species. The analysis was conducted using V3–V4 regions of 16S rRNA gene assess taxonomic diversity, composition, functional characteristics bacterial microbiomes. A total 1,078,916 high‐quality sequences obtained different clustered into 3,842 Amplicon Sequence Variants (ASVs). Alpha beta diversity indices revealed trees grasses exhibited higher richness community compared shrubs herbs. Analysis Similarities (ANOSIM) PERMANOVA further confirmed significant differences between four types. At phylum level, Proteobacteria (31%–75%) dominated associated with shrubs. Herbs grass a Fermicutes (41%) Actinobacteriota (56%), respectively. order, Lachnospirales (41%–44%) dominant herbs, Rickettsiales (80%) shrubs, Streptomycetales (50%) grass. genus Muribaculum trees, while Nocardioides herbs (30%–80%). Functional prediction analyses indicated nitrogen assimilation abundant mainly While methane ammonia oxidation processes enriched trees. Our findings determine common microbiome roots may support arid environment. These can potentially improve sustainable agricultural practices regions.
