Architectural images, experienced visually and spatially, embody urban culture, aesthetics, identity, yet their suitability in communities remains underexplored. This study addresses this gap by evaluating the of architectural images using niche-fitness model, combined with residents’ perception assessments. Evaluation indicators focus on form, color, features, values to assess how well buildings align residents environmental contexts. The findings reveal significant variations across six studied a high-density community Wuhan. One building showed high ecological adaptability alignment functional aesthetic preferences, while others exhibited moderate low suitability, reflecting mismatches perceptions. inharmonious these demonstrates need harmonize psychological preferences enhance livability identity. Combining Wuhan’s regional characteristics, suggestions for improving governance are proposed address mismatches. analyzes role image quality life shaping characteristics. By offering practical approach guiding renewal communities, research contributes creating livable culturally resonant environments support sustainable development.

This article delves into the increasing significance of eco-design as a cornerstone for revitalizing derelict industrial sites in Ukrainian cities that have undergone post-industrial transformations. In aftermath Soviet Union’s collapse and subsequent deindustrialization, considerable number extensive plots become unusable conventional purposes, generating triad interconnected challenges: environmental degradation, social disintegration, economic decline. Building on landscape-ecological architectural research, study underscores how adaptive reuse—often manifested repurposing existing structures integration natural elements—can powerful tool mitigating adverse effects abandoned territories. One specific strategy advocated by authors involves establishing “green corridors,” which not only expand urban green spaces connect isolated districts but also provide recreational zones contribute to public well-being.International precedents offer instructive lessons urbanists policymakers. Two emblematic projects are Manhattan Waterfront Greenway New York Cuernavaca Railway Linear Park Mexico City. Both examples highlight preserving historical character while incorporating ecological frameworks can galvanize community involvement, reinforce local identity, spark investment previously neglected areas. Manhattan, demonstrating underutilized be converted vibrant hubs life. Meanwhile, City’s exemplifies reuse disused rail infrastructure, shaping multifunctional corridor addresses transportation needs enriches communal ties fosters biodiversity.Within Ukraine, grassroots endeavors like “The Other Way” Kharkiv illustrate principles deployed scale. initiative sense shared ownership, cultivates awareness, revitalizes land. Likewise, “Green Corridor” concept has sought transform corridors interconnected, environmentally friendly routes bring together pedestrians, cyclists, nature. Although these resonate with international best practices, they constrained cultural, legal, financial barriers limit their scope.Ultimately, this concludes widespread adoption holds potential reshape “industrial wastelands” fully functional, inclusive landscapes. By aligning community-driven processes priorities authorities planners, municipalities safeguard cultural heritage, strengthen sustainability, stimulate socio-economic growth. Where collaborative mechanisms between government, private investors, civil society consistently maintained, may evolve decisive factor achieving Ukraine’s overarching sustainable development goals—ensuring more livable, equitable, resilient future.

Architecture as a STEM career presents promising yet challenging path for women pursuing professional growth in the field, they remain under-represented, particularly leadership roles and practice, despite their increasing presence architectural education. This study investigates experiences, motivations, challenges faced by architecture educational setting of Nigeria. Using quantitative research approach, data were collected from 137 respondents through structured questionnaires, representing 97.93% response rate. The findings reveal that passion design creativity (73.7%) was predominant motivation choosing architecture. While 80.5% reported experiencing or observing gender-related challenges, these not ranked primary barriers when specific obstacles identified; instead, financial constraints, limited resource access, work–life balance emerged most significant challenges. Remarkably, 89.5% participants expressed satisfaction with choice, no dissatisfaction. Creativity (28%), continuous learning (24.2%), societal impact (20%) found to be rewarding aspects careers. Statistical analyses revealed association between academic level institution attended experiences correlation analysis demonstrated intrinsic motivators like have stronger relationships than extrinsic factors stability family influence.
