Lignocellulosic materials are composed of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin one the most abundant biopolymers in marine environments. The extent involvement microorganisms degradation their contribution to oceanic carbon cycle remains elusive. In this study, a novel lignin-degrading bacterial strain, LCG003, was isolated from intertidal seawater Lu Chao Harbor, East China Sea. Phylogenetically, strain LCG003 affiliated with genus Aliiglaciecola within family Alteromonadaceae. Metabolically, contains various extracellular (signal-fused) glycoside hydrolase genes carbohydrate transporter can grow carbohydrates as sole source, including glucose, fructose, sucrose, rhamnose, maltose, stachyose cellulose. Moreover, many amino acid oligopeptide transporters peptidases peptone nitrogen indicating proteolytic lifestyle. Notably, gene dyp-type peroxidase strain-specific involved 4-hydroxy-benzoate vanillate. We further confirmed that it decolorize aniline blue source. Our results indicate species depolymerize mineralize lignocellulosic potentially play an important role cycle.
